I had a few questions about stand set ups. I had a couple really hot set ups this year and i killed 3 out of one stand and let a ton pass out of this same stand. I was wondering if you guys set up in the same tree year after year or do you move to a different tree?

I have some stands that I don't even take down after the season, just leave them up all year. I make sure to check the straps before I climb into them though.

There are some trees that I put stands in year after year, if they work and nothing changes (i.e. crops, deveopment, bedding areas, etc.).

If you do plan on leaving your stands up all year, I would recommend loosening the straps prior to the growing season. If you don't and the tree grows even a tiny bit, there is a good chance you'll be cutting that strap off... I know this from experience. :D

There are some of my Stands that I know will be Hot next year and I pretty much know when they will heat up.

No use to move them :)

we have about 12 stands that we keep in the same trees year after year. the deer move past these stand at different parts of the year and are all in a good location. during the year we also set stands, if we notice big buck using a certain trail or area and then move them depending on deer movement.

Some of my stand locations never change year to year, but I am always looking for new spots also.

Some stand sites are magical. Why would you not sit them year after year? Once the right tree is found it is used year after year.
