Anyone use this? Just wondering if it would if it would be better than carrying a rope? Just seems like it could make noise. Screenshot_23.jpg

I loved using one of those gizmos. Except that mine broke after about 10 times, if that :(
I need to look for a better one.

Saw that and played with it in the store. Made a bit of noise but didn't seem very sturdy. Have a couple of ropes with carabiners attached, and also carry a small piece of 14 wire. Bend the wire into a hook, tie it to the rope and pick up small stuff you drop. Beats climbing down and if your a real clutz can keep you busy for HOURS!!!!

I just use some nylon style rope and some old fashioned knots. Cost me $4 and works just fine :) I do like the wire hook idea, I've dropped stuff before.

Like you, Rybo, I've broken 2 of these. They're definitely not that durable.

I use this one, currently. It's also broken, but still usable. I busted the handle off of the reel. I can still wind it up, though. It just takes longer.

I have a pet monkey that I send down the tree to pick up my dropped items and get me a beer.

I've been using the one below for three years now. It's heavier than the one you listed, but this thing is freakin' awesome! I clip it to my Summit cable, hook up my bow and just climb. When I get to hunting height I just pull the bow up and it automatically winds the cord. Someone mentioned "keep it simple". Other than being heavier than a simple rope, this thing is so simple - no knots and no tangles. I usually just leave it clipped to the stand I'm using. I gave one to my brother and he still thanks me for it.

I like the idea if for no other reason then to keep from having to untangle the small diameter pull ropes.
Been just buying regular nylon rope lately.

You and Rybo should give the one I posted a try. If you don't like it I'll buy it from you - I wouldn't mind having more than one. Yes, they're that good.

He probably changed it because he had parents like mine who would smack you in the face for calling someone stupid or any other name. It was an effective tool for teaching us to be polite and courteous to everyone.
