Tree Stand Life Line By: Hunters Safety Systems www.huntersafetysystem.com Most hunting accidents occur while climbing up and down from your stand, after you have detached yourself from your tree strap, leaving you vulnerable to falling. So, how do you protect yourself going up and down the tree? Good question. Hunter Safety System has thought of, designed and made available to the public the Tree Stand Life Line. All you do is, connect the 30’ Life Line rope at hunting height, attach your tether to the carabiner equipped Prussic knot on the Life Line and with one hand slide the knot as you go up or down the tree. Should you slip and fall the Prussic knot is designed and strong enough to cinch onto the line and break your fall. Priced at around $30.00 this is a cheap price to protect yourself. If you don’t do it for yourself do it for the ones back at home. The Life Line attaches to the tree and stays there for the duration of hunting season. You attach the D-Ring on your Safety Strap on the back of your Harness to the Prussic Knot. You slide the Prussic Knot down as you descend and up as you ascend. I normally install mine after I have installed my climbing sticks. In the event that you fall the Prussic Knot tightens and stops your fall. Make sure you tie it off at the base of the tree to make it stable. I have one at every stand location I have. I hunt alone most of the time( I always let someone know where I am and when I am hunting). I don't want to fall or be left suspending and suffer Suspension Trauma. Your life is worth the $30 something dollars it costs. ALWAYS USE THEM!!! Tip....If you buy one during or just before Hunting Season, soak it in the tub with Scent-A-Way detergent for about 45 mins and lay it on the porch to dry. All the "new" scent will be gone. Good Hunting, Hunt High and Hunt Safe!
