The forum got really annoying really quick even before the "pay me" option came around, I rarely even go there, it's not laid out well and there are 1000 chiefs trying to out DIY the other Indians.

We don’t even have to pay for porn anymore. Why would they think paying for a forum is a good idea? People just move on to another forum.

Joe, you need to get the back band thing too, it will make your sits a butt-ton more comfortable.

This thing is pretty sweet! Climbed up to about 6 feet. I still need to make a bunch of adjustments because I can feel a little bit of a pinch in my hips. I can tell already that I do not need a ratchet strap, that platform is pretty solid and I could easily swing around to the outside edge of it on both sides.

I’ll be practicing in it all day tomorrow to get it dialed in!

All selfie humor aside, I still need to tweak some things. I'm getting hip pinch. My tether height is between my forehead and chin, and my bridge comes up to my chest. My climbing method would be great...If I had core strength, which I do not. Might need to do some situps to make this work, or rethick my climbing method.

If you are good with knots, consider shortening the bridge and then lowering the tether. I had to do this with my Kestrel. It made a big difference getting the bridge out of the way for maneuvering into different shot positions and relieving hip pinch. My tether is usually neck level, below my chin and above my shoulders.

It took some time to get used to the pinch points, it’s kind of like skiing, you’ll feel spots/muscles you never used before. I set my tether between chin and collar bone, that was much more comfortable than chin-forehead zone.
Keep playing with it, it’s takes time to figure it all out, had I given up on it the first week I wouldn’t have found the comfort zone.

fortunately the rope bridge has A Prusik to adjust the length. I made it much much shorter, and that made a huge difference. I also think some of the pinch I might be feeling is from my belt I wear with my pants, LOL! I also noticed with the short bridge, it is much easier to climb And requires a lot less effort. No selfies this time, I am so drenched in sweat! I think I’m gonna practice with it tomorrow for half a day, then I’m gonna Start to practice shooting from it.

You got it. I had the same problem with pinch and thought it was the saddle. Turned out just the way my clothes/belt bunched up and pinched. Just keep moving ropes til it gets better. Don't give up on it. It takes time for your body to adjust to it. That is part of what people call getting into saddle shape.

So I have my first saddle hunt under my belt. close to a 5 hour stand/sit What I learned:

    I like leaning and sitting
I need knee pads. I was using a piece of foam from my summit viper bungeed to the tree, but that was horrible for anything over 30 seconds.
Ropeman1 on my tether for my climbing method is a lifesaver! (I also tie in a prusik above the ropemen once at height)
Don't go for my 3 1/2 mile walk/jog when I plan on hunting that day. My legs were already tired before I started hunting.

The saddle did exactly what I wanted it to do...Have a tree in front of me tucked against a hemlock tree. I love this thing, I just need to get my legs used to standing/leaning for a few hours at a time.

Also, my climbing method with the modified viper platform is great. It does exactly what I need it to do, and is plenty roomy.

That's great news! Stick with it, you will find many little things you need to work on or change. But after your first season, you will be a pro.

Awesome to hear! Spend every chance you can in the saddle between now and November. You will be able to pull an all day sit no problem by the time the rut starts.

I was out hanging in mine tonight. The one on the right is the one I bought last year and the one on the left is the one I got this year. I have two in case one gets wet I can switch to the other.
