    Ben's Trapping Thread.

I've had a few out at the house for a couple weeks, but that's just been to tide me over.

Bobcats are in today and that's what really gets me going. Didn't get my second stem of traps set as I needed to get some wood cut as well, but a beautifully fulfilling day spent in the PA woods with my father in law.

The first, a step down set with a mouse in the hole.

The second, a more traditional cubby off one of my skid roads.

The third, a dirt hole set in a clearing.

The fourth, a flat set just off a small trail entering a ridge top food plot.

The fifth, an oversized cubby from last year where we missed on a yote.

The sixth, a new location and my most anticipated check in the AM,

After the rain this week, I'll get my other 5-6 set stem run. I set two more at the house before dark, a straight non covered cubby and a dirt hole set.

Pretty awesome day. Got started on a cord of wood to sell and put the finishing touches (custom tarp) on my newly made cinder shed.

Looks good! I have really gotten into trapping here in the last 2 weeks. We have caught roughly 40 coons, a handful of opossums and skunks, and 2 field mice

After the first of the year, I'm setting my sights on trapping some yotes in Duke #2s.

    Good luck in the morning!

Good luck Ben and Cole !! I want to get some bowhunting in but am toying also with the idea of setting some yote traps for old time sake in a week or so. Nothing real serious. Too cold for coon and no bobcats here but we have an over abundance of coyotes.

Greg...and shed to keep road cinders in...I know I know that's an obvious answer. Perhaps you call cinders something different? Ben has a steep driveway and will need to throw down cinders if it gets icy.

Ben, any cameras set on any traps? And I'd like to walk along sometime.

No cameras on traps. I did find a community scrape and set a camera on it this morning.

Ah.. 'possums. One year I caught 42 of them. Off of one property.

I found this 'possum in my chicken coop Thursday. I'm sharing it because, while big 'possums are common here... this is the biggest one yet. Possumzilla.

Hey Christine.... that possum makes you look skinny. Was he eating your eggs, chickens or looking for a warm place with food and water. LOL

Squirrel in a live trap tonight.

Gonna be a long night, the boy is under the weather and can't keep anything down. Normally he and I check traps after work. Had to wait till Kate got home tonight.
