I have a gravity feeder set up with protein pellets since February. A pretty good buck has been coming in almost every day during daylight for the last 2 months.... until last week. Now he is only showing up every 2 or 3 days. Drives me nuts that with only 3 days until bow season, he decides to change his routine.

Wondering if this is normal from what you've seen? If not, should I switch over to corn? If none of the above, what would you suggest?

    TIA

You ca ntry it but they are going to change their patterns and it'll probably just be one of those things you'll have to adjust to. Pre-rut, acorns, etc...drastic changes going on now.

Yea patterns have changed in my area, I agree with covey you may just have to adjust to the pattern change and acorns this time of year in my area are where it is at, especially with more falling. Good luck!

With the pre rut just around the corner and acorns dropping, he's finding other food sources. Now would be the time to make the switch in my opinion. Something new might be what brings him back more regularly but honestly, just setup stand where the does frequent. Where the does are in the rut, the bucks will follow.
