I am totally lost on this. every time I find one I think I like I find a handful of reviews bashing it haha. any really good trail cams? things I know I want: good IR still photos and video able to plug usb in and download the pics (or something similar) not really into the cellphone enabled or wifi ones.. thanks - scott
I have 2 cameras. The good ole' Moultrie D-40 (old school at it's best) This camera sure doesnt have the image quality of the new ones and it is NOT IR but it sure has been a good one. Beat the pure living crap out of this camera in the back of the truck, 4-wheeler, through rain and snow and heat. This camera still gets up with out a single issue. This past year i added a Moultrie I-40. Unbelievable pic quality and loved the IR. Just when I thought i had the perfect trail cam, I set it out before a 4 day long rain. The camera to this day works perfect but can no longer set the time stamp or any other settings on the camera because the lcd display is corupt due to what seems to be moisture damage. Terribly disappointed. All battery covers were exceptionally tight and everything seemed right. Not sure what the problem is. Just my experiences.
My best cams are the covert 3.0 for it's trigger speed and stealth and a new spypoint ir6 that been in the woods all summer it took some truly amazing shots at wow distances and puts my other cams to shame in every class. both cams i have yet needed to change batterys.
I have been really happy with my M100 Moultrie. Takes good pictures and seems to work well. I also have a Cuddeback IR from a couple of years ago, but that thing eats batteries. Really like not burning through the batteries with the new moultrie. Not to mention it is very small and has a built in screen so you can check it on the spot.
Covert makes some pretty amazing stuff. There Shop is just down the road from the house. Great reviews.
Been pretty happy with my bushnell trophy cam, my only complaint are the ir pictures, could be brighter. Ill be buying more in the future.
I really love the outcome of my moultrie M-80. For $129 you can get a couple of cams and they take excellent night and day pictures. Of course you can beat the $59 Wild Game inovation IR2. They let you know what's there, as long as they work.
I have 2 Bushnell Trophy Cams that have been pretty reliable. You can't beat the battery life but sometimes the picture quality isn't that clear. I just bought a DLC Covert deuce from www.fifieldseednfeed.com. You can't beat the price for the camera. I believe most of the Deuce camera's retail for $229 or so but this feed store is selling them for $149 with free shipping. The camera allows you to choose between a flash or infrared setting. Plus it has a built in viewer. I would highly recommend this camera especially at this price...
I'm in college so my money is tight. But i use the truth cam 35, i have had no problems with is, and it only costed me about $70.
Game cams have come a long way and the market is flooded with choices. If money is a concern (when is it not?), you can find good cams for under $100. The Stealthcam I-530 for example, has IR and a 5mp lens for $90. This is just one example. There are many other options for a fair price.
Sportsmans Guide look like they are having some kind of sale online right now. Here's one camera. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/...al-ir-game-scouting-camera.aspx?a=818173&pn=1
And another one here. No reviews though. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/...nfrared-digital-scouting-camera.aspx?a=891632
Stick with these. I had 2 moultries that cost 200 a pop and they are both broken. I bought 2 truth cams for 90 bucks a piece and they work great . Just ordered 2 more for 80 bucks a piece. If they last 2 years I'm happy I'll just throw them away after if they quit working
