Well after 13 years on the same ground someone stole one of my covert 3.0 cams off my ground and in a related incident my fav cam ltl acorn cam moved itself 20 yards,i called my brother and asked whats up and he told me that his brother in law took the ltl acorn but was told to put it back...well after he took it home,i got lots of pics of his truck and house but he put it back in the wrong spot.My brother is really mad that i think the same guy took the other cam,but i know he did and i will deal with that this week. Same guy moved one of my stands this last week also,I am sure he took the cams to look at the pics but he is just to dumb to not get caught. the 3.0 is useless without a remote, but i am still pissed. going back tomorrow and make a few changes to some padlocks of mine. They dont know it but there both looking for a new place to **** on.

Man that really bites. I wouldn't allow a dude like that to be anywhere near my spot. Hope you get your camera back.

I mount my cameras to trees using a chain on the bottom with a lock and a string on the top. I once found the string untied and it looked like they couldn't undo the lock. I got a nice picture of the person though and it just so happens i knew the kid from school. You should've seen the look on his face when i showed him the picture in the hall.

Hey man, sorry to read about your cameras. I had my Cuddeback Capture stolen 3 years ago on a piece of public land. Kinda my own fault cause i didnt have it bolted to the tree! AHHH it just makes me so mad that people dont have anymore respect for fellow sportsmen than that... I have no question who stole it but no way to prove it... If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them. Hope ou get your other camera back man, good luck!

If I was your brother I'd run his brother in law off the farm. He has no business moving someone else's cameras and stands. I always use a Python cable and lock on all my cams. If someone moved my camera or stand I'd be rather hot under the collar about it.

Did you locate your missing camera?? It sounds like you know what happened. Hopefully everything is where it's supposed to be.

I have close to 100 pics of the guy taking my cam home and then putting it back up in the wrong tree guess he could not figure the cam out while the whole time it took all of the pics, the other cam has not showed back up yet. My brother feels he did not steal it because he put it back....I told he was wrong and the pics prove it.

I told him that since he knew it was not his he was stealing from me period,my guess is the cam will show up this week.but he will have a long walk with the new lock on the gate. even longer if he wants to tote out his ladder stand.Better yet maybe i will move it to prove my point.

That guy would not be coming back to my place. Whether he knew it belongs to you or not is beside the point. He is a thief plain and simple.

I've dealt with the same kinda **** in the past. So I know exactly how you feel. I say give him a taste of his own medicine.

I think it's funny that your brother doesn't think it was him. If you've never had the problem before, and all of a sudden you get a lot of things being moved, etc.... and the pictures... the term "red-handed" comes to mind. Hell, I'd move the stand somewhere it wouldn't be found until my camera reappeared. Those things are friggin expensive.

Went out to the private land that I hunt yesterday morning to find my camera shut off and the memory card missing. Its also surrounded by 4 wheeler tracks so I'm assuming they took it to help cover their tracks. I'm very surprised they didn't steal the whole camera.

Maybe you can get one of those ink bombs like they use on bank robbers and squirt the ink all over him next time he touches your stuff.

It definitely seems valid to end the hunting relationship with them. I teach my son a simple truth. "If I can't trust you all the time... I can't trust you any of the time."

I just can't imagine a friend doing that. I hunted in South Carolina for 5 years, on public land and left my loc-ons wherever I wanted and I never once padlocked one to a tree and never once had anyone take one.

I was once the kind of guy that would only hunt with my climber and then only pulling the lower six steps out of my hangon stands, and most of my trailcam sets are with my trusty 5 foot ladder guess i will have to go back to being me. I think i have gone soft and trusting my own family to be civil and respectful of ground and personal property this is what buck fever really is. They see one big deer and they will do what ever they can no matter who's toes they step on. It's a shame

I would tell the brother in law he gets his stand back when you get your camera back and have him pick up his stand outside the gate that way he will know he's not coming back

I can't wait for the day that we have affordable GPS tracking chips to place in our hunting equipment. It will do for stealing what Caller Id did for prank phone calls.
