Greetings... does any one have any info. on the Leupold RCX-2 trail camera, with viewer? The ability to look at the pics, on site, is why I am interested in this camera. Is there another brand of camera that can do this also? I do not know much about trail cameras, so any comments will be appreciated... Thanks, J.
its junk. Viewer is nice, but camera is absolute junk and operating it is a pain. Buy a camera and get a separate viewer if you really want to look at pictures while there
Most of the covert line if cameras have a built in viewer !! And my Moultrie camera does to !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the viewer and it works great. You can watch stills or video with it. Don't buy the camera though. It is junk. There are many cams that have a built-in viewer but I personally would never buy a camera based on that factor alone. I use my viewer when I'm in the stand or after I'm back at the truck after swapping cards. I never stand out there, especially in the summer, to view pics. Too hot and too many mosquitoes. I can't tell you anything about the Leupold, but I have a Moultrie and a Covert with a built in viewer. I only use the viewer when I'm setting up in a new spot to see that I have target area centered and to make sure the field of view isn't too high or low. Good luck in your search.
I have Leupold two RCX-2 cameras! REALLY GREAT PIXS but both have been back to Leupold for issues. both were back for failure to trigger on targets, one for the USB port quit working. I have them set 90 deg apart and point at a water hole. They do have a aux power cable to hook up to 12V battery; but it is NOT fuse protected as I nearly burnt my garage down when a cable shorted out across the battery. Since then, I've added a 2A automotive fuse for protection. Leupold has always fixed and replaced them but it's getting old sending them back(one camera sent back twice and one camera once in 2 yrs). The process of downloading via the USB cable is slow; lately I've been swapping cards our. HONESTLY, I've been reading the posts in search of better cameras. MOBU
Ok. So a viewer will work with any camera? How would you know if one viewer would work with a different camera?
