I have never used a trail camera, but I was thinking of giving one a try this year. My son in law had a cheap one he got from Walmart that he put near a stand I had last year overlooking a corn pile. It seemed to do well and picked up some good pictures of a family of coons that were chowing down on the corn pile. The little ones really looked cute playing in the corn.

My question is this, I see where the price can range anywhere from 50 dollars to over 500.00 dollars. All I want is a camera that will show me a deer, his relative size, and what time the picture was taken. Will one of the cheap models tell me this? Has anyone got any suggestions for a cheap camera that will do this ? I haven't been able to remember when I see my son in law what model camera he had. I think he told me it was a discontinued model.

I use Primos Truth Cam 46's (I have 4 of them), they usually sell for $130. Primos also has a Truth Cam 35 that is cheaper

I just hung up a couple wildgame innovations cams recently. One was the micro 6 red and the other was a red 4. I got both for $70 and $80 on sale. Here are a couple of the pics. The one on the left is from the micro 6 red the one on the left is from the red 4.

I have had bad luck with the wild game innovations cameras. They are at great price but a lot of my pics are white blanks. But if your looking for something cheap to start out with that is one of the cheapest you can get. I would recommend get a bushnell trophy cam. It has worked well for me and has great pictures. I got mine off ebay for 180 but i think they usually sell for a little over two.

For 79.99 you wont find a better camera than the COMPACT 4 aa battery powered Tasco 5.0 mega pixel digital infared. Works great day and night, doesn't suck the batteries and takes great pics. I have 8 of them now, and I have everything from cuddebacks, bushnells, wild game, Wild views, cabelas brand...
