I am guessing Stealth Cam will be the biggest difference throughout this year, but we will see.

I've ran 95% Moultrie until last year when I got a 42ng. Very happy with it so far but we will see how it does this year.

I have not owned one but the pics some people are getting are making me want one.

I now have a Moultrie M-880... We will see how it fares against my Mp-E5's.

I have 2013 M-880 moultries and some 2014 models then I have two MP8 black coverts and several Stealthcam G42NG's.

The only way I feel comfortable answering this is that now if I have them all in a box and I want to put up a camera somewhere, I will inevitably reach for the G42ng's.

Overall, my 2013 M-880's are the best but the 2014's are just meh...so in order from 1-3:
    1. G42ng
    2. Moultrie M-880
    3. Covert MP8 black

I can't speak for cams I don't operate so this is based solely on what I have experience with. I think it's generally well accepted that Reconyx are top tier except they are stupid expensive.

Ran all coverts this year. Had a couple that I had to resend back because they weren't working but their CS was excellent and sent me brand new ones. Since then, they've been working flawlessly.

I want to try the stealth game g42ng next year.

I bought 2 stealth cams last season and they're both broken.
Reads full , cards empty and it shows empty when hooked up to the computer.
    CS was no help.
Switching to moultrie as my buddies have had good luck.

I'm still voting homebrew. Although I'm fixing two P41 builds right now (one bought from someone and one is mine), most are going strong and the picture quality is great. The fact that I can fix them often with a part that usually costs between $5-$30 is also great.

For battery life, though, I still give the nod to commercial cams, and Covert in particular.
