What trail camera do you use, and why? If it’s a cellular camera, what’s your data plan like? I’m considering switching to a new brand as the deer season comes to an end. I’m thinking of brands like Exodus, Barn Owl, and Black Gate, or others. I currently have three different cameras: two on cellular and one not (Tactacam, Magic Eagle, and Wildview).
I have about 10 stealth cams, the fusion x pro to be specific. I use them because they have been pretty reliable, reasonably priced, and the data plans are pretty cheap, starting at $5 a month for 600 pics. Another bonus is this particular model uses the strongest cell signal that is available. A downside is getting through to their customer service during the season. I have a Stealth Cam that was about $50. But I only bought it to see what critters frequent my back yard. Coyotes and deer so far.
I’m happy with Tactacam. I have a bunch, pay the $5 a month plan because the picture limit stacks for each camera. Their customer service is top notch. No complaints, especially with the reveal 3.0. Haven’t tried any other brands, mainly bc I’ve been happy with what I currently run. They also have a decent trade in program, can trade in older models towards new models.
I've tried numerous different brands, but the Browning Strike Force ProX 1080 (non-cell) is the best I've used. The video is outstanding, with awesome audio! The battery life is amazing too, as I get about a full year out of them. At $140, they're not cheap. I have five of them though.
I have a Browning CELL cam out now ( Browning Defender Pro Scout Max HD AI) .. using their 'unlimited' plan .. $14.99 month, extra 9.99 if I want to add another cam ... even though I dont get a lot of pics like some do (state land) the pics have been ok, but I set it on the Verizon only mode, I should have tried the 'auto' mode where it would switch between Verizon and AT&T for better reception .. I am satisfied with the cam .. I also have several regular SD card/black flash Brownings which I have had very good luck with, none of these are out at the moment .. I use lithium AA's and easily get 1 year life, even with the cell cam (I dont do videos, just pics) ..
I use a Black Gate R4G Lite cellular trail camera. It’s reliable, has great photo quality, and the app is easy to use. My data plan runs about $10 per month per camera on AT&T, and I can check images instantly. It’s been more consistent than my old Tactacam and Magic Eagle cameras.
