Hi all, ive done a search on the forums for trail cam settings but keep finding the setup tips instead. Ive just picked up a Ltl Acorn 5210A, ive just been testing it with a few stray cats in my backyard.

The photos seem to be pretty good, but i was wondering what settings other people are using? ive got the options of photo, video and photo then video. i can also set the photo number (i.e 1-3 photos then detect again) and i can set the video length.

What do you guys n gals recommend for using out in the field?

Any tips on the setting would be great for maximum efficiency and quality photos would be great.

    Thankyou

In the video mode, I recommend no more than 30sec. Anymore than that it takes too long to go through them. As far as the pic. then video setting, I have a Moultrie that does that and it causes it to miss a lot of videos. I usually set my pics at 2 with a 60sec. delay. Experiment around and see what works best for you. Most of all, have fun!

Some I set to photo and some I set to video, depends on the camera and the location. I usually leave them out for three weeks, although I left them for three months this winter because I couldn't get to them because of the snow depth.

I am currently running 2 pic mode with a 5 min delay, I would change that to a 1 minute delay but the card im using can only take 436 pics and I want it to last 2 weeks out there:) I personally dont have the option of video, nor would I use it.

I run mostly picture mode. 3 shot 45 second delay on mineral sites and 3 shot 5 second delay every where else.

HD video with audio is amazing for turkeys, creek crossings and scrapes. I keep the length around 20 seconds.

How many pictures do you get per day/week/month/ at 3-45 over mineral?

I have 3 of the Ltl acorn cams, good cams overall. The cam has windows on the side of the main sensor and wake the cam up so it ready when the main picks up movement and these side sensor can be turned off to save battery power and is a good idea if there is any brush or leaves that may keep the camera on ready and really drain the battery's. You will find the animal will need to be pretty close to this cam to trigger as the overall range is not super but the cam makes up for it in quality of its pics.
The pic/videos function is nice for a scrape I set mine for ten sec video with 5-10 second delay. I like pic mode for mineral sites but I set it up for single pic and 30 second delay as it will snap a ton of pics.
Run some night time walk by test and get a feel for how far you can set up and get pics because there is not a lot of ir lighting on this model so I would set it 3 foot off the ground pointed 90 degrees to slightly up to help this issue.
Mine are going on 4 season old and still work well. Please put a new sd card in and formatt it in the cam it will work much better doing this. Put as large of a sd card as the instructions say 16 gb card. Good luck

Scrapes: 3 or 6 shot burst depending on camera with 6 second delay.
Minerals: 3 shots every 10 seconds
Trail: 6 shots every 5 seconds
Feed: 1 or 2 shots every 10 seconds
