I was just wondering if I could use a camera to check my picture instead of a SD card reader

Yeah. those "Card Readers" are the biggest rip off none to the hunting population. You can even purchase a card reader adaptor for your smartphone. I have one and it works well. I just pull the cards and check them while in the stand or just bring a digital camera and check it with that. I've done that for years.

Some cameras you can, I found out with my camera that it will not recognize a card over 2 or 4 gb.

Yes but make sure the camera you are going to use will read the file type of your trail cam. I have a couple trail cams I can't check with my usual nikon...it says unrecognized file format. I have to use a different camera too check those

Yes you can. I pop the cards out of my cameras and check them in my smartphone while in the stand

Yeah. I keep an old camera with me just for that.

Also check out the "Airstash". Great for checking pics via wifi to your smart phone and then you can quickly save your send the pics.

I have an android phone, so I buy all of my sd cards with the micro adapters. When I check my cams all I have to do is pull the card and slide it into my phone.

You can up to a certain point, some cameras will let you do it but sometimes it's blurry or it won't zoom in. And some cameras won't even let you look at them depending on what trail camera it is.

I'm looking at this airstash thing...how exactly are you using it for trail cams?

Just slide the SD card from your trail camera into it and view the photos on your smartphone using a wifi connection with it and your phone. It's the size of a pack of gum.

I'll sometime switch out the card on the way to the stand then view it while I sit. Great way to pass the time and stay still because I may have 2000+ photos an average. Mostly hogs.

yes you can but i suggest getting extra cards mainly so your not in the area leaving scent for a extended amount of time.
