Now that my 7th season with a trail camera is about to close, i decided to crunch some numbers. I have 6,719 trail camera pictures saved to my hard-drive. 52 from 2003 36 from 2004 53 from 2005 364 from 2006 2,864 from 2007 1,495 from 2008 1,853 from 2009 2003 through 2005 were all taken with a film DC-100 camera. 2006-2008 were all taken with Moultrie 4.1's, Stealth Cam I450's and Stealth Cam I550's. 2009 was all Cuddeback Capture, Stealth Cam 1550's and Stealth Cam I590's. 2003-2005 were all pictures on trails or feild edges. 2007 was mostly spend on scrapes and corn piles. 2008-2009 were mineral licks, trails and scrapes. 141 were from my DC-100 film camera (3 years) 672 were from my Cuddeback Capture (1 year) 266 were from Stealth Cam I450/550's (2 years) 1,145 were from Stealth Cam I590's (1 Year) 4,492 were from Moultrie 4.1's The red bolded ones are the only 2 that im still running now: This buck that i got pictures of in 2006 (my 1st set of pictures from my Moultrie 4.1) is my biggest to date (with antlers fully grown): This scrape picture from 2008 is my all time favorite: A bunch of interesting, but nonetheless useless information for this cold Ohio day :D
Hey Caleb, How's that external battery you have attached to your I-590 working out for you. I thought about getting one, as they had them on sale at my local Gander Mtn for $29.95. Are they worth it and how often do they have to be recharched? By the way, those are some interesting stats. thanks for sharing. Blessings.....Pastorjim
Well, regular batteries lasted 1 night, and the external one lasts about 2-3 weeks, so yes, i like it.
You may disagree, but there is a good chance that is the same buck in those two pictures. I see some of the same qualities in those racks and he may have been on the decline in between those two years. The 2006 buck looks more like a stud in his prime and the 2008 looks like a old warrior. Either way, thanks for the number crunching. My stats are pretty skewed since we went from one camera to 7 in one year. From 100 quality photos to thousands like you. Keep em coming!
