is it possible to put a range finder or a small telescope type deal onto a trail camera? I am trying to think of a way to get long range for day purposes only. Mainly to have it far enough away from the entrance to a property that a poacher/trespasser wont see it, but the camera would pick him up. It would be during the day, so no need for the flash.

Is this just a crazy idea that wouldn't work? I am trying to think outside of the box here.

How would the cam trigger at such a long distance or will it be running on time lapse?

it may sound stupid but the sensor would have a scope of some sort over it, hopefully detecting the motion in the scope and then snapping the pic. I am a technical guy, but I dont have a clue how sensors work.
