I just got this Trail Camera. Wildgame Innovations Red 6. I either get a white screen or what looks like a ghost. Any ideas?
Looks like the ghost of a Storm Trooper. I dont know. My camera does the same thing once in every 50 pics or so.
I have the micro 8 cam and in testing it would do the same thing (indoors) like the pic you have. Move it outside and you will have much better results. I run mine in video mode and love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONS2pgKqD-M&feature=related
looks like something is wrong with the camera lens. look for somekind chunk of dirt or dust. It almost looks like a super small air bubble in the plastic lens. But IDK im just playing detective.
I think pretty much all wildgame cams do this. I'll get about 70-150 pictures, and of those I'll get a run of about 10-12 pictures that are all white. I read on here a while back that wildgame was replacing someone's camera that was doing this. However, from what I've seen, his new one probably will do that as well.
my wife just told me last night the woods i hunt in there use to be an old cementary really close to the woods that would be a rush to run into a ghost walking in the woods in the morning....anyways ya i get those to on my stealth not very often though
It seems that when the inferred flash works that's when I get the white screen. I took it out tonight and set it on video and it worked fine. I actually like the video better. Thank you all for the help.
Agree, bring it outside and try. I got my first trail cam last winter and I set it up in my garage to test the IR in the dark. All I saw was white and outlines of me and my boat. I braved the single digits and blowing snow, moved it outside, and t worked like a champ. Different brand of camera, but pic looks similar to what I had.
There is a time right at sunrise and sunset when the lighting conditions are perfect to confuse the camera. It detects that it needs to switch to IR when in actuality there's still too much light for IR.
For our business I have 8 moultree and 6 New Leupolds, the Leupolds are all new this year. I've never seen this with any of these. Not sure what to make of it. I'll guess that there is some confusion between the infrared function and the regular color function. Probably on the fringe of light that allows the color photo with the infrared on at the same time. This company must not have an "either-or" decision and allows them to somehow be combined to take these ghost photos?
My guess would be that it's all the reflection of the flash that causes it to white out. In a lit room with white walls... well.... this is what you get.
In a word... MOVE! That thing sits beside you in a tree stand you'll fall out. Now dont think about that while you're in your tree in the dark, waiting for sunlight. It's probably not a scene from Paranormal Activity...but then again?
The thing that started me messing with it at home was that I got 4 pictures out in the woods and they where just a white screen. So I pulled the camera to see if I had the settings wrong or something. I put it in my basement that's when I got the ghost (it's me). The PIR and resolution were set on high at the factory so I reduced them so I wasn't getting a white screen just a ghost. As suggested I took it outside and put it on video mode and that seemed to take care of everything. Now I'm going to put it back in the woods this afternoon. I went with this camera because a friend told me to get the cheapest I could find because they get stolen often. I got this one because it was the middle of the road in price.
