Checked the cams today and this guy has shown himself a few more times since last check. Here are a couple different views. OK....will all the experts chime in with a score?
Nice buck, but it's tough to make P&Y as a 6 unless you're REAL big. My P&Y scorer gave me a good tip - it takes roughly 19 inches of vertical tine length per side to make book (given an average spread/beams/mass). While he's got good beams and decent mass, he's not spectacular. Tines add up to maybe 15-16" per side so my guess is he falls short by about 5 to 8". Still a nice buck though!
I'd say he'd gross 115 - 120" with the good main beam length and spread. Missing those tines really hurts tho'. Shoot him. He's a cull.
He is a very unique buck. I've always wanted to shoot a big 6 pointer, but I don't see him making P&Y. 7 years ago I passed a buck very similar to that, not because he was too small, but there was a 180 class 12 pointer I had seen the night before. I still regret not shooting that 6 pointer.
lets see. He has good Main Beam Lingth......24".......48'' IS............................................................17.5" G 1's..............................................5".......10" G 2's............................................10.5".....21" Sub total..................................................96.5" Your going to need 28 1/2 " of mass. It's a great Buck, I would drop the string on him.
He's old and needs to be culled! I would ground check him. I have a big 6 that is a 100'' net. I would say he has maybe 10'' more...
Cool. You gave him more on the G2's and G1's than I did (unless you meant 4" total on the G1's). Just curious. Thanks.
I have a question regarding scoring a 6pt for P&Y. Are there 3 "H measurements" or 2? If it's 2, this 6pt scores 111". If there are 3, this 6pt scores 117".
How would you get a 4th H measurement (and where would it come from?) from a rack that has 3 points to a side? Just curious
