Check this guy out. Looks like he may have been shot last year and lived. Looks pretty healthy now, but I did get word that a hunter on the farm next to me shot a small buck with "5 points on one side and 1 on the other" so he may not be so healthy anymore.

I see the entry/exit hole at the base of his neck(that area) but is that a "growth" on his left shoulder?

You can see a bulge on the right side. I saw one like that a few years ago some one shot him in the shoulder and it must of been infected but he seemed to be able to walk just fine. Just shows you how tough deer are.

Yep, there appears to be some sort of growth there now. Possible that a piece of the arrow is still in there? Sure looks like an entry hole and the growth is the exit. I know the guy on the next farm over wounded at least 2 bucks last year, so it wouldn't surprise me if this was one of them.

    A dark alley.
Looks like an abscess where the arrow exited.

Pretty wild what these animals can rebound from, eh ?

    They definitely deserve our respect.

Yeah, if you wound multiple deer each year.. perhaps you (not speaking about OP) should spend more time at the range, jmo. Hate to think about all the wounded deer out there
