What all traditions have you heard of or have for when someone kills their first deer/buck/doe. Let me know about all of them.

The one I had done to me was my shirt tails cut.

    What is yours?

On my first deer about 23 years ago, I had to gut it while my father talked me through the process. This year I told my cousin that he had to hold it's "organ" with his teeth while he cut around it. :)

    LOL! Nice!!

We always joked that if you shoot a doe you had to "make it" with her after recovery, but it was just a joke.

Years ago on anyone's 1st kill we'd dab our fingers In the blood of this persons 1st animal and make markings on their face.

Not really an established tradition but I did talk my nephew through the process of field dressing his first deer. I would do the same for anyone I'm hunting with.
