I've been looking to get into trad bow hunting and am a complete beginner, having only shot compounds. I’m thinking it would be best for me to start with a used bow rather than buy brand new. Below are my specs that I’m looking for.

    - Right handed
    - 29 inch draw (this is my compound draw length so assume it’s same on trad)
    - Thinking somewhere in the 45# range
    - Hoping to stay around $150

If you think you might have something that fits my need I’d love to hear about it! Advice also appreciated.

Look at a Sammick Sage. It's a great entry level tradition bow. However, I would suggest a lower draw weight to start. I have a custom Black Widow recurve that's 52# @ 29" and it will wear you out. I have a Sage at around 35# and can shoot it all day and enjoy it. Good luck on your search!

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking the 45# would be a good weight to eventually hunt deer. Perhaps working up to that would be a smarter way to go about things.
