looking for an all around tractor for food plots, plowing the yard and around the yard for yard work and anything else when it comes to making my hunting area a better place. Im leaning toward a CaseIH. For the 75hp without cab its runs around 30k. Any suggestions? Look at my local dealer and they seem to be a good deal. What are you guys using manufacture/ HP

I am currently using a New Holland model 1920, 35 HP. It does not have a loader but handles a 6' bush hog and 6' disc pretty well for its small size. It works great in my small plots but it is slow when it comes to the large ones. I have also used it around the house for tilling a garden and cutting grass with a 6' finishing mower. The tractor belongs to my father in law so I can't complain but it certainly could be a good bit bigger considering the size of my hunting property. With that said, I have been looking at getting a new tractor of my own and have looked at moving up in HP.

I have a john deere 3032e which is a 32hp 4wd! Small frame but havnt had it blink an eye at anything ive thrown at it! 6' heavy built disc, 6' brush hog, 6' snow plow .....it does it all and is small enuf to get just about anywhere.....Its a little cheaper than most becuase it has no lift system or hydraulics for a belly mower...I think a 75 hp would be a little large for those applications...I personally would stick 50hp and under! .02cents

I would go with a 50hp kabota. Why are you looking at that big of a tractor?

I run a 45 hp new holland. It can swing 7' implements. I have a 6' rototiller, backhoe, 48" grapple, 7' landscape rake and a 7' rear blade. I own 45 acres (42 woods), it has done everything I've thrown at it. I have dug out, pushed over and removed 85' tall trees, cleared food plots, plowed snow, maintained 1/2 mile of gravel drive. I do a bit of firewood. I carry 2-8, 9' logs out of the woods with my grapple and use my backhoe with thumb for cutting them into 18" fire logs. Unless you are going to be doing this type of work nonstop, you won't need a tractor much bigger than this.

My neighbor builds tractors for pulling. He has a 9N down here with a massive turbo hanging off the side. Haven't seen it pull or anything but I have a feeling it would get the job done.

Many good tractors out there - We have a couple John Deeres(2 at home-2 at work...love the Deeres) and just traded up to a 100hp(way overkill for just plots and mostly too big for yard/garden work) for the bigger one but for your applications I think 35-60 hp is plenty. New Holland(Ford), CaseIH, Kubota, McCormic, and Yanmar are all good tractors and I would go with whoever you have locally for a reputable dealer and what they carry/service the most. They all will need service work and/or parts/hoses etc when you use them a lot so a nearby dealer(service and expertice) is a big plus.

I have a New Holland TT60 open station. Basic tractor that does a great job for me. 7' mower and pulls a 12' disc easily. Less than 20K three years ago.
