i shot a bear tonight and there is good blood little bit away from were i shot him recovered the arrow had dark blood on it. and how it looked i shot little high and back, and im thinking it was around the kidney area. but it was under the spine. i was wondering if that is a lethal hit or no? thanks

How high and forward did you hit? If its forward but high you should still be good. How far was he from you and how high up were you?

Does the arrow smell like guts? any bubbles in the blood? if you hit near the front leg and high then you are good.if its farther back then prob not so much. hope you find him

sounds like liver to me. you definitely need to aim higher on a bear than you do a deer, so you're probably good there. on the bear i've shot, the stomach is much smaller than a deers, and the liver is back a bit further than a deer.
