Pointless. He wouldn't play in the first 5 games anyway, and its not going to deter a guy like Pryor from doing it in the future. These kids think they are untouchable. You could tell many of them that if they are caught taking gifts against the rules, that they will loose all NFL eligibility, they would still do it. You need to eliminate those causing the temptation. That being the creepy old dudes that get off by hanging around teenagers. Paying the kids money won't stop it, and penalizing them in the NFL won't stop it. Do you really think the Cam Newton violations had come out before the season started (yes, its only a matter of time), he would get suspended? Nope. They did it with an irrelevant player. And how often do they get caught while still in college? I'm talking about the big time players. Are they going to suspend Reggie Bush now?
When you get suspended from a game in the NFL, you don't get your game check, so TP will lose some cash. TP left college, he has a right in this free market of ours to make money. TP broke no laws, so he should be able to enter the Draft and make some coin.
According to the NFL, he is suspended for trying to skirt around the supplemental draft, whether or not anyone believes that to be the true reason doesn't really matter. Just like him being suspended will affect nothing concerning the 2011 NFL season.
