The hitches break on them causing the boat to come unhooked then the pickup rolls.

Yea they're made in the USA but they still don't hold up like the big three.

Wish I had pictures but it was 1:30 am. The boat, my boat is fine. Broke the hitch right off the pickup, safety chains and all. I only lost about $2500 worth of decoys and junk out of the boat. Stuff was all over the freeway. The pickup is junk.

This is what survived the wreck.

I think it will be salvageable. We'll have to wait and see what the insurance company says.

This is the best looking decoy out of 8 dozen...

I've always heard horror stories of dealing with insurance companies on stuff that was in/on a trailer/boat.... We'll find out soon enough.

    Toyota is junk.

There were two more of those small plastic boats. They got ran over by a truck. They shattered into hundreds of pieces. There was about a 1/4 of decoys on the freeway and once the traffic started running them over, there wasn't a single one worth a nickle.

The plastic boat that survived got hit by a ford pickup and the driver was able to stop.

Hitch come off of pickup. The entire factory tow hitch. Not the ball, not the stinger, the hitch that is bolted to frame. I know this is the case as it was still connected to my boat trailer in the ditch.

Toyota is junk and if you like toyota, you probably voted for obammer and are a worthless democrat/union thug/public employee.

Lol I've owned every brand of truck except for junk Dodges. I settled on Toyota for dependability and value retention... Sounds like you got a lemon with a hitch not bolted in correctly. I'd look to see if it was factory or if dealership put it on before selling to you. Might seek reimbursement that way...

    Bad deal for sure though.

The only ones that I ever saw bolted on were dealer or aftermarket add ons.
And Toyota only went union in hopes to grab a share of the market that was somewhat off limits to them before.
Toyota Tacos have been kicking everybody's butt in the off road market for years.
Their solid trucks and I don't even own one, am not a democrat , nor a public employee, former union and current Chevy driver( which I will never buy again) but I also
check my truck out from time to time.

But then again maybe you got a lemon......

again, it's not my pickup. It's my friends. Toyotas do not hold up as long as GM or Ford. They fall apart in the woods when used as a crumby. I saw one that was smashed when they set a Waratah log processing head on it. Broke the frame on the left side. Junk. Do it ALL the time with GM and Ford.

If you don't know what a Waratah is....

Sorry about your stuff...I'm a conservative Republican and I love Toyota's...lol. Best Vehicles I have ever owned. I only buy Chevrolet and Toyota's. Had too many Junk Dodges and Fords. Sounds like someone may have put the hitch on wrong. Don't know the whole story or anything about it though.

I use my Tacoma more and harder than most 1/2 ton people out there. 135k and not a thing wrong with it. My dad's 03 f250 with 50k? It's been in the shop more times than he can count for the 4wd actuator, tie rods, cat, etc. Point is? Everyone can get a lemon or have problems. I know it stinks to lose all of you gear like that, but no need to label people for what they choose to drive. It's probably a safe bet that most people on here aren't liberal, anyways:D

I'm a ford man at heart as well, but I'm betting those of you on the power stroke band wagon don't own one of the 6.0s huh? That engine redefines junk.

How does the hitch falling off cause the truck to roll?

This post confused the hell out of me. I haven't owned Toyota truck but several of my friends do, and the use the hell out of them...maybe beat the hell out of them is better term. They seem to hold up pretty dam good for the most part. Also used tundras around this way get bought up as fast as they can be put on the lots...sorry that you had a bad experience but I am pretty sure that not indicative to the trucks in general.
