Shot a doe at 10 yards this evening at @ 6:05 p.m. Because of color blindness, I needed my wife to come and help track. Couldn't find anything tonight. Going back in the morning. Got good blood at the site where I hit her. Heard her 'cough' twice after shooting her. I will be bummed if I cannot find this deer. I am thinking that the 'cough' means a good lung shot. Wish me luck fellas and ladies.

Good luck, a deer coughing is definitely a good sign.

While I have heard them cough/sneeze without being shot, never have I heard it after a shot without good results.

She won't be far from last blood

Coughing should indicate a lung hit. I have heard that before and the deer doesn't usually go very far. Good luck!

You should buy a UV flashlight. With fresh blood it can make blood trailing in the dark possible even being color blind.

Good luck, hope you find that deer.

As much as it pains me to admit, I could not find that doe. Finally got on some blood this morning. Just couldn't find the deer. Really bummed out. I need to get me a good blood trailing dog. Darn it all. I am not giving up. It is early in the year. Thanks for everyone's support.
