This is how I see it went down in April. Tressel "TP are you selling stuff for tats?" TP "No coach" What else is he suppose to do? He asked and they said no Down with Tressel!!!!!! To they make a sweater vest in prison colors?
You (M*ch*gan) are poor losers! :D I just have a hard time with finding this to be accurate as Tress is a straight shooter.
me too, but I have to throw some jabs at you Like At least he can get good advice about prison from Clarett Tressel would dominate the prison league also
You do realize, even if this is true... He wouldn't be charged with a crime let alone put in jail right? The guy that wrote the story is from Michigan.... Imagine that!
Everyone outside of Ohio, and not just Michigan, thinks he's one of the shadiest coaches out there. People only say its a matter of time before he gets exposed. Could this be it? I hope Tressel gets away with it all. If Michigan gets back to where they should be, I want them to beat OSU at their best. Its not as fun if the other is down.
tOSU self-imposes 2 game suspension and $250,000 fine on Tressel...sounds like there may be a little fire to this smoke.
Yeah I thought it was over blown also, but it's getting some serious play. Listen tOSU fans Rich Rod is available and he comes highly recommended from MI.
This is pricless Tressel did not want to interfere with an FBI investigation. SO he was told to keep it on the down low until Dec. Even though he was told to keep it hush hush he gets suspended anyways? Sorry but the math does not add up here.
Explain why people think he's shady? Besides the stuff at Youngstown, Clarett, and now tattoogate...I guess there isn't much. The coaches can claim they didn't know what the players were doing, but it seems many times they do, and look the other way. With Meyer gone, the top spot for shadiest coach in America who hasn't been caught yet, goes to Tressel. I guess the "hasn't been caught yet" part might be changing soon.
Booo sour grapes from a Michigander! He wasn't "caught" either they had already self reported the incident and was under investigation by tOSU and the NCAA long before a leak went to Yahoo sports. Those were bad decisions by kids, Clarett and the tat 5. Tress had nothing to do with their stupidy.
He said he was scared...that is funny. Scott, most I know around the college water cooler if you will thinks tressel is akin to calipari, always a little smoke, but not quite a fire. Remember, I am a BAMA fan, so i know a thing or 2 about violations...lol On a side note, I read tOSU was appealing the suspensions of the 5 players, if so that is some BS. You say they get 5 games to make light of letting them play their bowl game, and then appeal it for a shorter suspension. One thing about it, the stuff mentioned above goes on daily in college football, but the longer you stay at the top the better chance someone will tell.
I heard on Mike and Mike this morning that this was the same thing he did at Youngstown State. (Having knowledge of a potential violation and not reporting it.) From what I've read and heard on ESPN it seems what is likely to get him (Tressel) in trouble with the NCAA is the Sept memorandum to the NCAA stating that all potential violations had been reported. If he had knowledge of tattoo-gate in April and everyone didn't find out until December then he lied to the NCAA with that memorandum (or whatever they are calling it). If that's the case 2 games and $250,000 will just be a drop in the bucket. Edit: Went back to look and it was called a NCAA Certificate of Compliance. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...8/ohio.state.jim.tressel.sanctions/index.html
