Sounds like the concern should be if Tressel knew about it in April or not. If he did, then he could be in the same kind of hot water as Bruce Pearl. Only time will tell though if it's anything for tOSU fans to be worried about.
If a guy is pulled over three times for various traffic infractions and all three times he is driving different cars from different car dealerships what does that tell you buckeye? It is called getting the "hook up" and it is illegal in the NCAA's eyes. Tip of the iceberg..... "The Columbus Dispatch reported on Jan. 2 that Pryor had been “stopped for traffic violations on three separate occasions while driving cars that were owned by a car salesman or a Columbus used-car lot where the salesman worked.” He’d also been allowed to test drive a car for the weekend to his home in Pennsylvania. Archie said the school knew of two of the incidents and had deemed nothing improper. He said the school would investigate the third traffic stop in a borrowed car. There has been no update on that internal investigation."
I could care less if every student athlete in the country borrowed a vehicle.... So what.... I also don't care if kids sell their personal belongings.
They are already treated very well while playing. The NCAA has their own rules its like the P&Y everyone was arguing about a while back. Its their club their rules. We have to deal with it.
Do you care if every student athlete had a house mortgage paid for by someone (ala Reggie Bush)? I mean you have to draw the line somewhere don't you? If so, what is the line?
Its ok my hawkeyes are gonna be terrible. They have a bunch of idiots that cant play anymore haha. Tyler Sash was smart to get out of there earlier. Its cool because he went to my high school! haha.
It was meant tongue in cheek, because of their bowl game. Also I don't blame you for taking the wait and see approach. I'd feel the same way if it was the team I pulled for, because there wasn't a lot of evidence in that article. It was mostly speculation from a "source" that Tressel knew about it before December.
To be honest, also wouldn't care. There are much more important things for me to worry about than some rich dude buying or paying for things for some student athletes. AJ Green, Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo who ever. People complain that these kids already get the education paid for... They make these universities MILLIONS of dollars! Poor kids get to go to college for free also, they make the universities nothing. They are allowed to sell their belongings, borrow cars and even have some one pay their mortgage. I am against these student athletes breaking the law, Cam Newton and Jeremiah Masoli (stealing lap tops etc)... Not to worried about someone borrowing a vehicle or selling their personal belongings though.
. That's exactly how it read to me, speculation. More info will come out either clearing this up or making it muddy.
