He seems alright, except that he lied in his first press conference. I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no way the coaching staff didn't see, hear, know, or suspect something was going on. Even a blind dude would have at least heard whispers.

Actually I believe him, I know in past jobs and job there have been a lot of etc stuff going on. If I would looked up and not been focused on my job, I might have seen it.

TP was the main issue and how many times would Fickell be invloved with TP. Fickell is old school IMO.

Sorry, still don't buy it. When students are saying you had to be blind to not see some of the vehicles these players where driving around, there is no way the coaching staff didn't know. They are around them more than most students.

This isn't just Pryor. This goes back years. Fickell has been there for 10 years. He knew something at some point. I know he's not going to come out and say that. Lying is the common play for head football coaches in his situation. He seems to picking up the protocol quickly.

And for the record, you also believed Rod when he cried.

When I played in college we had an all-american qb who went on to play in the CFL. He was also drafted in baseball. The summer he was drafted in baseball he returned in a decked out 5.0 Mustang. You couldn't miss the car as he rolled up to practice. Everyone even the coaches knew about it. It was legal, but it still caused people to talk.

My point, the coaches at OSU saw the smoke but never investigated the fire.

OR....they were told it was nothing to worry about by the guy at the top, and never took it any further....????

Fickell seems to be a class-act sort of guy. I'd like to think he will do a good job and be rewarded as such. Unfortunately, he may have a very tough challenge ahead of him with the pending NCAA sanctions. Had tOSU done the right thing as soon as they heard about Tressel's knowledge that he'd withheld, rather than standing by him, they may have been looking at a better situation with the NCAA. But I believe the unwaivering support for a coach who willfully broke the rules by his actions may warrant a heavy punishment, and I wouldn't blame the NCAA at all.

Good news for us tOSU fans is that TP plans on someday returning to tOSU and Buckeye nation to complete his degree!!!! (and maybe get a couple great deals on cars and tattoos!!! )

I would be surprised if they get hit that hard by sanctions. Its not the same situation as USC, which is what most people are comparing it to.

    - Coach lost his job (osu) vs. coach got a better job (usc)
    - Players have been suspended and/or off the team (osu) vs. player in question is in the NFL already (usc)
    - OSU is a money making machine for the university, the B10, and college football vs USC's games didn't sell out even when they were dominant. College football is very much about money. You know, as long as the kids aren't getting any.

I am guessing their former 5 star offensive lineman recruit who crew up loving tOSU is not impressed with the new coach. He just de-commented and will be in MI this weekend.

If he goes North, he will just be 0-4 just like Jake Long was :whip:

BTW... Interim coach. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here... He has to earn the HC title.

I am rooting for Luke... He is as Buckeye as they come. I just feel he will be in over his head.

Dunn is terrified of tOSU's depth chart at running back.... He has been wavering ever since Warren Ball committed. He is scared of competition... BTW he said he was unimpressed with UM after his visit there.

I wouldn't give two thoughts to it if he decommited and went North... He could then be just like 0-4 Mike Hart...
