Never really used topo maps. Hitting a new property the next few weekends so I decided I'd start. I've done some reading and want to know if I'm on the right track. First, here's a few google earth pics of the property. The first aerial photo is of the South block. It's about 120 acres with some fields. Have no idea what, if anything, is planted there. The second is of the north block. It's actually public land that is land locked by private land. Finally, the topo map. I've outlined what I feel may be good based on some limited reading online. Am I on the right track? Based on the topo, where else should I think about setting up? Hate going blind into an area this time of year, but things have been pretty bleak around home and we're really not in a high deer density area.
For whatever reason uploading from the computer was giving small pics. South end: North block: Topo: Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
IMO and from my experience you might be on to something. On the south block, your northern most arrow on the Topo, should be a good set. IMO I would move my stand a little more south closer to the field edge for midday or evening. If I was hunting from this Topo only I believe I could swhack one there. Good luck, and happy hunting
Thanks! Not used to hunting with this much terrain. Always interesting to learn more about how to chase whitetails Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
