I notice that some guys come out of the woodwork when a topic of their liking is front and center... ( EX. Mobow and heavy vs light arrows :D ) I would like to know... What is YOUR favorite topic(s) that we discuss here?
Anything posted by GregH about hunting Bucks. Anything that pertains to strategies that I have never tried.:D
I mostly just listen and try to take in what other with more experience say. I am going on my 9th season and know some, but not a lot that the guys here have. All time favorite is the scentlok debate threads. lol
I like anything Antler Eater post, we need to get him here. Atlas has some great ones FairChase His go to thread of "Location" It's a waste of time to hunt bucks that are not there Whisker Biscuit ScentLok Buckeye has some great ones also GMMAT and VA do also, but they post 10,000 a week:p I miss the camo threads, those were great!!!! Funny thing is most of us have switch camo these days, so why the hell were we so passionate HCH rocks at threads Hoyt Rules No Bowtech rules and so does Colorado No Elite rules and there are 13 big game animals in NM Hey check out my wife she's hot and great and boy she can hunt Hey my Ex is a ###$ and she poaches Strothers Archery Rules, checkout my hot girlfriend MO and Iowa are the best places to hunt, he really is consistant.
I do alot of watching and not alot of talking on here (says the man with over 1,000 posts :D) BUT.....there are some topics I enjoy more than others. I do alot of reading when people talk about strategy and technique for locating and killing whitetails. I don't have much to say...so I just listen I enjoy the debate on feathers v. vanes I also enjoy debates about new and improved equipment v. older stuff that has been proven to work.
Yes indeed, that is one of my very favorites! I like the technical aspect of archery. I suppose it appeals to my meticulous nature, but I like my gear to be right. I don't 'want it to work' I want it right. And I like to learn how to make it right. The physics behind the arrow going downrange interests me. Aside from that, I like the 'fun' threads. The ones we're joking around, laughing......the 'campfire talk' type stuff. I like to get out there and hunt deer. Love it, in fact. But, for some reason, whitetail behavior bores me. There's no question that if I would work harder on that topic I would become a much better buck hunter. The one aspect of their behavior that does interest me, though, is the terrain topics.
Maybe you just aren't "hardcore" enough Jeff... LOL I think my favorites are Topo discussions and anything that involves trying to strategize killing bucks. Anything that can give me some hints, clues, or ideas that maybe I haven't heard of or maybe even forgotten about.
It has all boiled down to strategy for me. Why deer use certain terrain features, how they use thermals, exit and entrance strategies, etc. I like talking and thinking about them because I really need to improve on those things.
I like the how the hell to find deer threads!!! I also like the bow tuning threads, helped me out a lot.
I like the ones where it feels like I'm listening to my 9th grades arguing In all seriousness, I enjoy the map posts. That's an area I really want to pick up more skill...reading topos. I also enjoy reading up on the new equipment and tech related questions.
I like topics that inspire thought, be it an interesting strategy or a debate-able topic. I'm less likely to respond when some one takes the better than thou routine or shoots dimes from 40' in the air, through thick vegetation.
