Hopefully with the cooler temps this weekend I'll finally get a chance to be in the stand. The "to do" list is slowly getting smaller!!
Only been out about 3 times since opener, getting out the weekend of the 10th and 11th to do some doe management so pretty excited for that and took 5 days off for the first weekend in November!
Back at it again, already had a short encounter with 2 small doe. Was only in blind for 5 mins maybe. Was obviously pretty ninja coming across field to blind or they were just dumb ha
Just got sat down. First hunt of the season. We'll see how it goes. Can hear acorns falling all around me.
Back out in blind again tonight. Felt like it's to early in season and early to ride a treestand in 20 mph wind just yet. Last night ended pretty uneventful. Had 2 small doe 45-50 yards in front of me but they weren't maybe 100# and don't need meat that bad
The bright green strip at the bottom is a plot that runs west for about 500'. Wind is swirling pretty bad. We'll see..........
Haha yea I'm not sure about the opening on these bale blinds. They're made so can slide them down but the outside covering is so tight sometimes they catch. So at least on the front I open them enough to shoot out of and just sit as far back in blind as can hoping to blend in with the black some. The side windows open alot smoother guess you'd say but the front and back seem like they'd be iffy if something come out quick. Figured I'll have enough stuff to get ready without slowly sliding window down
Speaking of getting ready I felt lost getting dressed. The squirrels are aggravated with something. They are too far for it to be me.
Ha yea that would do it. I just about had a yearling doe stick her head in the window of blind. She was 5 feet in front of me. Then moved to the side of blind. Couldn't get first pic cause didn't wanna move but we were eye level.
