Nice job! Getting out in Wisconsin this afternoon, gusts of winds up to 25 mph, going to try and get out of it and maybe get lucky! Ill post later what I see!
Finally got the last plot growing. This one is at my in-laws house. It is about 1 acre in size. My stand is hiding in the large hedge tree on the left, about the middle of the plot.
What's up guys, ain't been on much since we've been slammed at work. Good job getting us on the board guys. Just a reminder when entering in the scorecard make sure there's two photos with deer, bow, and yourself and if a buck a break down of scoring. A video works also if you film.
Hows it going team? Anyone been getting out for some more early season action. I am probably going to sit this weekend and see if I can get a doe on the ground. Have to wash up all my cloths this week and get packed.
I doubt it this weekend. They are callin for a high of 80 both days. Still have one big project that I need to finish. Hopefully I can to that this weekend.
Thanks for the video love, yeah, She put her butt in my face and then stared at me at full draw for 15-20 seconds. lol. I hit her a little back and high, but she was quartering away and i got both lobes of the liver and some lung. Ive been eating venison chorizo (my favorite, pork fat generously added) all week. its been unseasonably hot here for the last two weeks. after sweating through my scentlok two or three times the thrill kinda wears off. I did see what looked like a shooter buck cross a field edge last week, and set up to intercept, but saw nothing on my one sit. I put my hunting buddy onto a nice little nine pointer who came out under one of my stands last week at 5pm. Next day same time, he rushed things a little but connected at 2 yards. His first buck so it was all pretty exciting. I had a great sit last night after making a hell of a racket getting a stand set and camera arm hung. Still saw 6 deer, the most Ive seen at once this season from the stand. too bad the 2 yearling bucks and 2 fawns came close while the mature does stayed just at 40 yards in cover. I may move that stand 60 yards to improve my odds. anyway, temps are dropping here! Good Luck fellas!
Neighbors have 2 nice bucks down. A 130" 8 and a 165" 12. Hopefully the big 180" comes are way with them being done
Hey y'all. Just checking back in. Only a week to go for me now. How do I put the team logo on my posts?
I watched a nice buck, hard to say what he might score at 180 yards through my rangefinder, make a scrape Wednesday night at 630 on a field edge within 35 yards of one of my stands. Wind looks good to sit that stand tonight, and this morning is a good ten degrees cooler than yesterday. Preeeeettty excited today.
Nada, heard a lot of crashing around, maybe even some sparring. I'm gonna move my stand about 60 yards if possible. Basically moving from one apple tree right on the corner of the field to one just inside the timber. I'm pretty hopeful, this is a good area for big bucks.
Managed to get out for my first hunt of the year. Saw 10 deer total, one 8 pointer (not a shooter size for me). Had a doe at 25 yards but I was waiting for her to provide me a better shot and it never materialized. Felt good to get back in the stand.
Hopefully I'll be in the stand finally end of this week. Still got some stuff to do but been having back problems so haven't been doin much on weekend. Finally starting to feel better though just in time. Season opens Thursday and might try to take Friday off work and hunt all weekend.
Here's my bale blind set up and couple doe that decided to hang around while changed SD card in camera. Got a pic of a pretty nice buck that didn't recognize. I'll try to put a pic up later.
Anyone have a strategy they use for going after bucks in or near their bedding areas? I have a mb half a dozen shooters who I think I know where they like to spend a fair bit of their time in daytime beds, but I'm unsure about how to get on them. So far I've been setting up on secluded apple trees and inside the timber on inside corners of fields, but I'm yet to get anything older than a two year old within bow range. I'm wary of bumping the good bucks before the rut, but I feel like there are a few I might as well be more aggressive with, due to hunting pressure and such. I only have one browning trail cam I trust, and three primos who don't get out much. Has anyone had success with a bump and dump?
