In no particular order, after Montana......... Montana Young Brady Bradshaw Manning Marino Staubach Tarkington Elway Favre Last two out.........Moon and Brees Side note....I agree it's very difficult to compare QB's from different generations. Today's league is certainly a pass happy league, completely different from even 10 years ago. Everything about today's game favors the QB. SCFox
This is somewhat the case with all the decent QB's in the league compared to 10 years ago since defenders aren't allowed to defend anymore. Look at how many QB's have thrown for 4,500 - 5,000+ yards in recent years. Rookie QB's are even lighting things up which rarely happend in the past. Brady's numbers actually aren't very good this year (for him) but most of his receivers are new. The Patroits are actually running the ball a fair amount this year too.
He started in Tampa before going to San Fran. There he sat behind perhaps the greatest ever until he got his chance.
His career started in 1985 in Tampa. He didn't "start" a game until 1991 in SF. I know he's a HOF QB, I just always thought of him as overrated.
here are mine in no certain order. 1. p. manning 2. brady 3. marino 4. kelly 5. montana 6. elway 7. unitas 8. stabach 9. rodgers 10. bradshaw honorable mentions - tarkenton and stabler

Not to sound like a jerk but I can only assume those people don't know much about football. A couple years ago when NFL network had a panel put together their list of top 100 all time players Montana came in at #4 and was the highest QB. They also created the same list using fan votes...Montana ranked #2 in that poll.
One thing I will say is it really didn't hurt matters too much throwing to THE greatest WR of all time Jerry Rice. Most impressive thing over the years for me with Brady has been it doesn't matter who you run out there. The guy just gets it done. He's had some pretty good receivers over the years but never a flat out stud and pretty much no running game at his disposal.
That is true NY....but let's also remember that Joe won 2 Super Bowls before Rice came along. I think they made each other better players.
IMO Montana and Brady are similar in that they were great at managing brilliant schemes by brilliant coaches. If we're rating QBs and not the teams they played on, then there are others who were greater individual players because they had to be. The fact that Bradshaw is on anybody's list is laughable, he had 212 TDs and 210 INTs for his career, and that's with 2 HOF wide outs.
So more people don't have the guy that you think is number 1 than do, so we don't know much about football...looks like you missed on the first part.
I'm not sure what you are confused about? He was the voted best QB and a top 4 PLAYER. You also didn't rank Montana down at like 5 or 6 as NY stated so I'm not sure what your problem is? Maybe you should take more time to read the posts.
Ummmm Randy Moss? The best receiver of my generation? He sets records with the guy. Not to mention Welker will make the HOF and the Gronk has a chance too.
Yeah I thought about Moss when I said that. Was at the tail end of his career. Didn't really know the numbers they put up together to be honest, but don't remember him being the Moss at the begining of his career. Welker? ehhhhh like I said... some solid receivers. I don't view him as an elite receiver. And I think Brady made him as good as the other way around. Gronk burst on the scene recently. And yes he is a stud. Probably best weapon he's had. But he's a china doll and hurt more than not. Verdict is still out on his overall production (not capability). That being said... that's 3 guys over the course of his career that are "questionable" when comparing studs!
