Ahhhh the Cowboys. Americas team? Hottest cheerleaders? Some big names come to mind when you think the Cowboys....Smith, Aikman, Irvin, Sanders, Owens, and thats just my lifetime.

They have the biggest and baddest stadium, the most famous owner, the most recognizable logo...

The Quarterback they have started for the last 5 seasons is one of the biggest NFL celebrities, has a career QB rating of 95, 120 touchdowns to just 63 picks and a 39-22 regular season record. All fine and dandy?

    Nope.

Career playoff record of 1-3. And despite his numbers, what is he most famous for? Blowing games. The botched extra point, the Revis interception. These are just a few examples.

So i want to hear from the Cowboys fans (NYbowhunter for sure)...what are your thoughts on Romo, his new coach, and the Cowboys in general. Will they be true contenders again in the near future? Or will they continue the trend of not being able to put up in big games?

Like I said 3 years ago romo is not the answer. Shoulda traded him and Roy Williams a couple years ago to the rams for the first round draft pick and got Bradford.

TR is not making it any easier on him or the 'boys.

I think Ryan and Garrett are the answer. I think Tony will just have to do for now.

Getting past the dumbass offensive plays - the Cowboys D played well last night.

It's a tough division. We will be in the mix, but good lord if we don't play smarter on the offensive side of the ball, we will be in for a season like last year.

The Rams wouldn't have touched that. They have had a man crush on Bradford since they found out they were getting that first pick.

I've been a Romo supporter since he came into the league. He went to a smaller D-1 school here in Illinois, so I've always kind of rooted for him. However, he definantly doesn't have the kill attitude that some of the great QB's have when the game is on the line.

I think Garret is the right guy for the job, and I think that they can win with Romo, I just don't know if they will be able to win it all.

On a side note....why do his recievers all have crushes on this guy? First TO's crying interview a few years back and then Dez Bryant last night????

Been saying it for 5 years now. They simply arent going anywhere with Romo. Just not going to happen. This game (although sucked when it happened) really didn't surprise me. My reaction was hmmm just another Romo moment at a key time. He just doesn't have it when it matters. Something breaks down in his brain in situations and he just makes bad decisions and blows games. Always has... always will. And that's a problem you can't fix. He may put up decent numbers at the end of the day/season, but it's that "it" factor that really matters and doesn't have it. So just another year of big names, close games, losing with bonehead decisions by romo, close to playoffs, etc..... I can't believe the Cowboys organization hasn't seen a trend by now with Romo at the helm.

    Two words = Gisel's husband.

The only NFL quarter back to win a unanimous MVP award.
3-rings, blah-blah-blah - to many accolades so I'll keep it short.

Going down in history as a top 5 QB...

Love Garret and like Rob Ryan (even though it looks like he's 9 months pregnant and just ate a VW Bug)

Again, Jerry just needs to know to keep mouth shut and out of the locker room, but we all know that will never happen. I'd like to say that I'm about ready for that old geezer to kick the bucket, but nobody would devote their life to the Cowboys the way he would. Just don't think his sons have the same passion he does.

After the game Sunday night I felt great about the season for 3 quarters, then my typical year 21st century Cowboys showed up

The worse things get for the team, the closer Jerry gets to the field. When they were in their prime years, life was good and Jerry was happy.

But, sooner or later, his need to be involved and constant reconfiguration of the team will lead them to another ring. Hey, it did for the basketball team across town with a similar GM AND remember for years Dirk was lamented as a soft player who couldn't perform in the clutch!

That's IT, right there!!! The guy is laughing and smiling after a receiver runs the wrong route or he over/under throws a ball. He SHOULD be pissed and mad at the receiver or himself, but instead he's grinning like "No biggie, we'll do it better next time." He needs a coach to "GET IN HIS FACE" and coach him a bit more. That is part of the problem. Maybe they need the other Ryan brother down there to give him a little "motivational speech!!!" I'd be all over him for that crap if I were the coach!!! And the fumble thing would have had my blood boiling!!! I'd have had to take a Nitroglycerin and a Valium if I were the coach and my QB did that!!!

I like Garrett, I really like Ryan and his aggressive exotic blitz packages..... Give those two coaches the right players and Dallas will be tougher than hell. Jerry Finally got it right with coaches ... since Jimmy Johnson... Now we gotta find a QB that can handle pressure situations and sure up that o-line. If Homo would ever pull his head out and quit trying to act like Favre at the end of games.. we'd be tough

I've been a huge Cowboys fan all my life. They had the Jets by 14 points in their 4th quarter and let them come back and win. Lets face that the 50 yard field goal kicked by the Jets TO win was a little unexpected. Not many people could have pulled that off. I think that 50 yard field goal was just luck, BUT, the Cowboys choke. It doesn't matter if it's regular season or the super bowl, they are the worse choke team in the league.

Romo gets a lot of blame, a lot of people were blaming him for the loss with the Jets. He had 2td passes. If he did make a mistake or two, he also was responsible for a few points as well. I've always blamed the offensive line. Romo has a good 3 seconds to catch someone open before he's put into the ground by guys 3 times his size. And his girlfriends shouldnt even be allowed to watch him play.....man he loses everytime his girlfriends are there. I think they need to get a better rushing game and they need a better offensive line, and Romo needs to learn to go down field more.

I think Tony Romo has what it takes to lead the Cowboys back to contenders. Yes, he has made some absolute bone head plays. Yes, he has cost them the game before but I still think He is a good QB. I think Garrett and Ryan are a great combo for the team. I think they have all the tools for being a super bowl contender. They (especially Romo) need to be more consistent. The O-line well all I am going to say is they need work. It's hard to be a great qb when you have no protection. He is a pretty good scrambler as well. They must also play smarter at all aspects of the game. Turnovers are killers and you must take advantage when you get the chance to recover a fumble or intercept a pass. I am anxious to see how the secondary performs this season. Two years ago they were fan-freaking-tastic and with mostly the same guys last year they were garbage. Most importantly you have got to play as team. That is everyone included. I know Jerry belongs up in a box and not on the field but if it was my team I would want to be where he is at. Anyway, I am a lifetime Cowboys fan that no matter what will all ways pull for them and hope that one day they will rise out of the ashes back to top form!! Yeah I know it's corny but I said it lol.
