It was always fun to watch him bat. I saw a stat where he hit safely in 76% of his games, that is just crazy. Very sorry to hear he passed at such a young age.
if anything, I hope it teaches guys to put down (or never try) chewing tobacco. It's a darn shame to lose such a classy guy at such a young age from something completely avoidable.
He was definitely one of the better guys it seemed in sports. Dont think I've ever heard anything really bad about the guy.

To put his great batting prowess, he took the plate against the great Greg Maddux 107 times... never once struck out while batting a measly .415.
Yep, one of the stars I grew up watching. Amazed at what he could do at the plate. Great contact hitter. It's unfortunate.
