A life long friend of mine was diagnosed with a rare Kidney Disease (his Mother and Brother died from this disease) some years back and after quite a spell on dialysis and alot of people being tested, his oldest daughter was the closest match and gave him a kidney. He gets around pretty good and leads an almost normal life these days except for all the meds he takes and some type of experamental infusions he gets every 2 weeks for his new Kidney. He was drawn for a Bear permit this season and I started running a few baits for him. We went in to pull the cameras off the baits on opening day and on our best bait we had dogs all over the place, that left us with 2 baits that the bears were hitting after dark. We picked the one by the river and went in early to set up the blind and do a honey burn hoping the bear would come in while it was still light enough to see. Sure enough, with about 15 min of light left, I picked up movement to my right and told Tom to get ready, the Bear approached the bait 3 differnt times without committing himself, The 4th was his last. When Tom asked me if I was going to sit with him, I asked why? He said because of my condition, I said whats that, Imscaredcraplessidas :d Glad I did, it was qite a memorable experience.
Congrats to your buddy on his bear!! I bet he won't ever forget this hunt thanks to you. Well done !!! Tim
Sliver, You're a hell of a guy to be getting that guy out there like that and getting him a good set-up. He's lucky to have a good friend willing to help him out that much. Congrats to both of you!!!!
