    Tomorrow (Updated with Pics)

Tomorrow is a day I've been looking forward to since the day I decided I wanted to get married and have children. Tomorrow is the first day I will take the oldest (age 4 in July) of my two boys hunting and it is going to be a special day for me.

It will be an after work turkey hunt. I have the snacks, books, I-pod, and monster trucks packed (they are a big deal around here :)). We will both be dressed like Johnny Cash in all black to blend in with the inside of the blind. Damn will we look good. :woot:

My only expectation is to make his first impression with hunting a good one and that we have fun. Anything more would be gravy.

Wish us luck in our adventure. I will post some pics come Thursday.

We only get 5 days to hunt so I hope to have pics of both of us over a gobbler by Sunday night.

    Thanks I appreciate it.

It's funny guys. I asked him tonight what happens if we see deer. And without hesitation he said, "shoot him". lol He looked a little disappointed when I told him we could not shoot deer this time of of year and it was turkey hunting only.

Even though I have been pounding it in his head.... I still believe he thinks hunting is like what happens on TV. You sit there for 30 seconds and the turkey or deer shows up.

    Great thread, Brad!

I took my 8-year-old a BUNCH with me this season, and he said several times "I wished it would happen like it does on t.v."....

I'm a fair weather turkey hunter, so I use turkey season as an excuse to take my daughter hunting. Its a great situation to take a youngster. You're in a blind so you can get away with some talking and movement, and the weather is usually warm enough.

We've never killed one hunting together, but we've come pretty close. Seeing a kid's reaction to a tom sounding off at a close distance is pretty cool.

Looking forward to hearing how it went.

    T minus 2 Hrs!

I'm the same way Vito. It's just a great time to sit in a blind and relax. Not really caring what happens. Assuming I don't have a turkey yet, I'll probably take a book or two this weekend and just sit in the blind all day reading, eating, drinking (water or soda) and posting on BHC.
