I NEVER go to our local shop after the middle of the summer, but I know the guy who runs it pretty well. I over heard that he scored a nice lease in Illinois so I stopped in to see how that went. I was also curious (thanks to you guys) to see how "busy" he was. We shook hands and I stood there for over 30 minutes before he could slow down to speak. In this time I heard a guy ask where the old arrow bin was, Clay asked why and he said he needed to cut them down for his crossbow Clay refused telling him how dangerous that is, and he replied I do it all the time. Later another gentleman ask for filed tips that would be compatible with braodheads, Clay scrathces his head and explains he has several weights. The gentleman decides on 100 grain and then comes back 15 min later and wants the broadheads that match those particular points. Another gentleman bought new sights, with 2 days before season and admitted he was working so much o/t he would probably just have to line them up with his old ones to make due for Saturday opener. More went on but I had to go back to work...Clay told me how frustrating it is, but you can only try to explain and they usually get mad. Business feeds the family so what can you do. I am by no means any better than anyone on this planet, but it is funny/sad to know it ain 't just happening at walmart. Never had a "proshop" horror story so there is mine.
Steve, I came very close to working as well...decided we would stay until 7 last night and come in early and work late tonight. The guys get the OT and Saturday off, so "they" are happy:D Thanks bud, I had to live vicariously through you last week while you were chasing bears...you still going back soon?
Well morning one is in the books, a big ol nanny at 23 yards but the bow did not even come off the hanger...too thick to shoot. If she would have continued on I would have taken her, but she turned striaght away and left.
