In all fairness, it's not a bad claim to fame. Not much more true of a test than those two minute drives. I actually think the OL and Ben in general played a pretty solid game. The Jets just played better. Neither team will go far in the playoffs (if the Jets make it).
An overly predictable offense, inconsistent OL, and a clearly exposed and vulnerable secondary (provided you avoid Polamalu with the best of your ability). Hopefully I'm wrong, after all, I'm a Steeler's fan:D
Look at the stats put up by TWO guys who WERE teammates, and really hardly played college ball!!! Absolutely amazing, eh???
Season stats, not just one game, the whole season...... Cassell is one of the top 5 QB's in the game right now, this season, and he's still developing. Rex was pretty good last week, better than McNabb has been any game this season, but that wouldn't have taken too much.... Matt Cassell is gonna be a name people recognize, it's just gonna take him a couple years to get there.....
Top 5 in the game...so you would let Casell start your super bowl over Brady, Manning, Vick, Ryan, Rivers, Breeze, Rogers, rothlisberger,,,starts to get a little vague after that
You are dreaming. Brady Peyton and Eli Manning Rivers Brees Big Ben Rodgers Ryan Romo Vick Schaub Palmer Flacco They are all a class above Cassell Cassell belongs in the list with guys like Sanchez Henne Freeman Hasselbeck Cutler Fitzpatrick Garrard Bradford Kitna Campbell Top 5??...........are you related to him or something?
Kenny Stabler... the greatest 4th quarter QB !! Nuff said !! LOL I am not into watching sports of any kind... but I did like watching him play for the Raiders. All's you needed to watch was the fourth quarter. With my attention span for sports... He was perfect. Plus he really aggrivated my brother... which was priceless since he is a big sports fan and hated him !! I would watch the Steelers back in that era. Terry... Franco... Mean Joe Greene... Lynn Swan. They had it all and a pleasure to watch. Were those two the greatest quarterbacks ?? Don't know and don't care. They were the only ones I ever cared to watch. Tim
Matt Cassell Today 11-33 for 115 yards 0 TD's and 2 INT's (1 returned for a touchdown) QB rating 19.1 Against the Raiders no less. This from a guy being touted here as top 5 in the league. BTW.............some tool named Brain Hoyer was able to just step into the Pats system today and go 7-13 for 122 yards and a TD for a QB rating of 111.7
Atlas, I still think Tom Brady and Matt Cassell could have killed two doe the day you "only" killed one. I never once said Cassell was top 5. I just said he was not a "system" guy and that it showed within the statistics this year.
I would take Matt Cassell over Carson Palmer (hasn't been the same since his knee injury) Eli Manning (led the league in INT's this year and turnovers) Romo (he's just not proven, and I am a Cowboys fan) and Schaub (good QB, but certainly not on Cassell's leve). Categorizing Cassell with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Chad Henne is laughable.
Wow..............do you guys even watch football?? I'll give you Palmer as he could easily have been in the bottom list (now). I suggest you look up the stats of all the other guys you listed before claiming you would take Cassel over them. Even Cassel's gift season with the Pats doesn't touch the numbers those guys put up year after year. Fitzpatrick put up better numbers this year (extrapolated due to his only playing 13 games)on a horrible team then Cassel ever has in his career and Henne's stats are VERY similar to Cassel's career avg.
