Can we get an admission of a "little" homer-ism?

Think of all the greats you have to slide down the list, if you put Favre above them. In Siman's 5, I don't agree with him being above the 2 cited. And, I'd put a few in front of him, still.

Just don't see it. Like I said....if you play long enough, you're bound to do things more times and for more yards than anyone else. Most yds.....TD's......Fumbles.....Interceptions.....they ALL add up.

    One championship?????

I'd take Bradshawor even Aikman over Favre any day of the week. Didn't Favre have Reggie White in the mid 90's? That defense was considered pretty damn good.

I mean really.....doesn't it really come down to who you think is/was the better/best QB? If championships don't count for anything (to some).....then neither do the records.

Why is this still being argued?

In the not so very distant future, Peyton Manning will be remembered as the greatest QB of all time. This really isn't a debate.

I just don't get the Favre being in discussion with the greatest of all time. I really don't get it. Like Jeff said... yeah he's going to have stats to back up his resume cause he's played for 50 years. In those 50 years what has he done/won? If anything that's a negative on his resume. I'm not even that much of an anti Brett. I'm actually impressed with his durabilty and compare his streak to the likes of Ripkens. Really amazing when you think about it. But that's as far as it goes. Aside from a bunch of different stats that he's gathered because he's played forever why is he one of the best all time QB's?

as a life long patriots fan, I am biased when i say he is the best of all time. I was not happy when he replaced bledsoe, but for a 6th round pick he is pretty darn good.

Peyton is GREAT, but he has the luxury of Harrison and now Wayne. Brady only had 1 true #1 and he went 18-1 with him.

Peyton would have more rings (IMO) had the colts threw any kind of a defense out there for several of those years. They had to win games by scoring 45 because the d gave up 44

Homer...a little, we all know im a fan (biggest fan on this website).

What people see now is the interceptions, the mind changing, Jen Sturger and the crying. You have to put this into an overall context...as with the others. Looking back 50 years from now, these issues wont be on the front of our minds.

From 1994-1998 Brett Favre was the best Quarterback in football. No other Quarterback had that much of a stranglehold on the position for so long. 3 MVP's, 2 Super Bowl appearances and a win. And he didnt break all of his all time records this year, he broke them 3, 4 or 5 years ago, since then he's just been adding.

Favre IS a top 5 QB all time, if not id like to see who you put above him and WHY.

And isnt this a Brady thread ;)

    See...no offense, but that's "homer".

    Interception "percentage"? Really?

And, ftr, there's at least 2 QB's on that list that I'd put above Favre on the all-time list. And, you don't even have the best listed.

When you play as long as Brett, you can cook the books in about any way to make it look LESS BAD in the areas he's bad at (interceptions/fumbles).

Most NFL annalists have no problem In the least saying Favre was one of the best all time. This was being said long, long ago while still a Packer. You haters shouldn't let your emotions get Involved. ;)

Not for anything else, but NFL "annalysts" are no different than you, me and everyone else discussing a topic. They don't have some superhuman NFL insight. They simply are employed by ESPN and get paid to talk about it.

Brady is the best to suit up, and has been for the past 5-6 years IMO.

Manning is good, but Brady is a touch better IMO when it comes to winning.

Stats aside, if you are down 4 with 2 minutes to go and have to drive 80 yards for the TD, who do you want as your QB? Anyone who doesn't answer Brady is biased in one way or another.

brady gets a little more credit than he deserves.he gets league protection and none of the blame when they lose.he was nothing in college and as far as physical ability goes he's a statue! the only reason he has the rings is b/c he's surrounded by a great o-line who can keep people off of his hind end so he can stand in the pocket all day long and make those passes.he's a product of the system and thats flawed by controversy of cheating. the patriots always have a nice defense and they seem to stiffle teams as the season goes along.people freeze up when they play them. tom brady is smart and has a decent arm.its hard to ignore what he has accomplished imo he's a legend in his own time but wether he's an all-time great no! he's not.the all-time greats played against defenses that wasnt forbidden to touch you or your recievers and the league didnt create controversial "tuck" rules to help them. put tom brady any where else and he would be out of the league in 2-3 years.we'll probably never know though cause a dollar to a dime he'll never play for another team.i wouldnt either when my offensive line can hold people and get by w/ it! one of the least penalized offenses in football!

Carson Palmer gets his knee destroyed by a Steeler diving at his legs from the ground in the playoffs.........in a year when the Bengals could have easily won it all......no one cares.

Brady gets his knee tore up in a regular season opener and the NFL quickly changes the rules of their game in response.

    Classic.

Really? Big Ben over Brady and Manning? You lost all credability with that one. Ben had relied entirely on a great defense and running game. He has got better as a passer but that is still because defenses are afraid of the Steelers tough nose run game...he is a QB...not a TE or RB...he isn't even top 10 of active QB's...Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers, Ryan, Schaub, Romo, Vick, Flacco, Rodgers, ect....all better than Ben
