228 pass attempts with no interception?(last one being a hail mary at end of half):ninja: Should this guy be playing in a different league? Hypothetically say they win the Super Bowl this year. Where is he as all time QB's?

All time? My opinion would probably draw a bunch of "uh-uhs, because..." from the die-hard NFL crowd. But, he'd be REALLY high on the list.

The game he played last week, against NY, was a QB clinic. That was a treat to watch.

The best over the last 30 years, to be sure IMO ... let's face it ... as tough as thos old timers were, they didn't have these juiced up behemoths coming at them at break-neck speed .....so I am changing my answer to the best of all time ... IMO

He's a top 3 IMO all time. Looks like he's playing a different game out there. And tough to argue with his resume.

I used to think Elway was best all time, but I've since changed it to Brady. The guy just flat out gets the job done.

Well with a wife like Giselle and fathering a child with Brigett I would have to say number ONE!:)

In my era of watching football from the late 70's, I would have to say Brady and Montana are probably the one's taht stick out the best for me, considering the championchips and constant "winning" status of their careers.

Other's that pop into my mind are Elway, Aikmen, Favre, Bradshaw...
Without championchips I would go with Kelley, Marino and probably Flutie, just because he went to BC and has a heart of a lion (plus a little guy like me):)

Does Steve Young's name belong on anyone's list (anyone else's)?

I just had this discussion with a brother of mine last week about this very topic.

On a personal note.. before I begin.. I loathe the man.

But.. he is easily my number 1 QB of all time.. hands down. He's so cool and steady behind his line its always fascinating to me.. to watch.

In my opinion the man should earn an Emmy. NO ONE can fake a hand-off.. or statue of liberty like he can. It's astonishing how well he can sell it.. in like 3 seconds.

Even with my disgust for him (I think he's a bit of a complainer) I watch him every chance I get.. just to watch him play.

    The man can certainly play.

Couple things that keep me from going overboard on Brady and/or Belichick are that when Brady went down a QB that hadn't started since high school stepped in and they didn't miss a beat........that says A LOT about the system in place, especially considering Cassell sucks since removed from it. I just think it's a lot more of the Patriots making Brady great vs the other way around.

Belichick washed out in Cleveland so if he is such a genius then why did he suck there?...........also if Brady is one of the all time greatest then how does a genius not see that in practice?.........Brady never gets on the field if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt.

The cheating bothers me as well...........does every other team do it too?? Don't know, but when Belichick gets caught cheating in a Super Bowl and then one of his assistants that moves on (McDaniels) get caught doing the same thing it looks bad.

Having said all that..............I don't care what the reasons are, the Patriots and Brady and the Hoodie are scarey good at times.

Yes Steve Young is certainly another great one...

I'll use his name along with Montana and use Atlas comment about coaches...
Those QB probably would have been nothing without Walsh either - right?

Not everyone gets drafted in the 1st round and it depends heavily on needs of the team / value of the player at the teams pick time. Belicheck drafted Brady for a reason, ability and value. He shined when he needed to and TRUMPED Drew Bledsoe, who was th #1 pick. Talk about sucky decision making quarterbacks. The man never understood that you CAN throw it out of bounds instead of throwing an interseption - yikes!

As far as the cheating, I believe most of the interviews from half the other league coaches SAID that 1/2 the teams stretch the rules when it comes to this type of thing (taping/research) in defense of Belicheck. Hmm...

It's gonna suck when they get back into the playoff's:) Maybe win it again, one never knows... There on @ 4pm (eastern time) in case anybody wants to watch:):):)

So you give the system no credit for Brady's success? You honestly believe he would be the same player if he was drafted by the Raiders?

Yea..........you conveniently left out last year ;) In his time at KC he is avg about 200 yds and roughly 1 TD and 1 INT per game with a QB rating just over 80.

He cashed in his lottery ticket though which I give him credit for.

Just seems convenient again to label his failures as some sort of building block or natural progression just because he is good now.............I'm sure he was trying very hard not to suck in Cleveland but he couldn't make it work.

One of the greatest of all time is slingin' the ball around for you all year in practice and on film and an all time genius football mind couldn't see that? I don't buy that.

Would Cassel be in Brady's shoes right now if he were the back up to Bledsoe instead of Tom?? It's possible...........he filled in for Brady without missing a beat and he hadn't started a game since high school.

He has been good in New England, that's for sure.........except for the cheating in a Super Bowl he has had the midas touch for the chowds.

Atlas...look at the team he is leeading the way with right now. Not exactly star ladden. He won a super bowl one year in which his best wide receiver was sent to play cornerback bacause they ran out of them (troy Brown), and with that being said how good is a team in which Troy Brown is your #1 when he is a best a #3 receiver. He also gets a pretty boy rep because the wife, hair, GQ etc...but that guy is a fierce competitor. It seams that every year he has some weapons, or the defense gets stripped from him, but he never says a word, and just keeps winning.

As for the Cassell comment, you could look at it as he took a team that was 18-1 with Brady and made them 11-5. Sitting behind Carson Palmer and Tom Brady are the reasons why he did not start since high school, not exactly like he went to slipper rock and sat behind.....

I am not sure of where he ranks historically, but he is pretty dang good.

Let me first make it clear that I despise Tom Brady. If I had to choose one professional athlete whom I couldn't stand, it would be Tom Brady, and really just the Patriots in general. I don't really have any reasons, I've just never been a fan of them all the way back when I was a kid.

HOWEVER, the dude is absolutely brilliant as a QB. I don't think you can simply say there is a greatest QB of all time given the different eras that each has played in. He HAS to be mentioned as ONE of the greatest though.

its a team game, offense / defence / special teams / coaching / kickers & punters.
Without the others Brady wouldn't shine.

Thats why Marino is probably the best QB not to win a championchip...
