Can't help but notice the bigger older deer is only out at night. The smaller younger deer are out during the day. Hoping that will change during the rut??? Nice to see deer though. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
and the funny thing is, there were over 1100pics in this location alone, had raccoon, fox, ground hogs etc....and small bucks and tons of Doe...the 4 pics I have of him were seriously the last 4 on the card before my Son and I came on Tuesday the 2nd at 08:00 in the morning to pull it. I'll see if he is on the next pull when I go back in 2 weeks...
I'm all the way out here in Ca. But dad and brother in law have been seeing tons of bachelor groups on the farm in Somerset co. The bigger older deer either at night or just at dusk. Truth to the saying " they don't get old and big by being stupid". Hopefully the first 2 weeks in Nov. this will change. Can't wait , I fly into Pittsburg Nov 2nd. For two weeks in the woods. Dad has been seeing one he calls Basket Buck. Rack is wide enough to put a bushel basket in. Nephew saw a 10 pt with a drop tine also with spot light last week. Mostly in mowed hay and clover fields. totally agree with you, Older bigger bucks are that way for a reason.....my 2 cams are on opposite sides of the lease....Im hoping to see some more of him and others like him here in the coming weeks....seriously with Pa being basically bait free (have to stop 30 days before hunting season) I'm excited to be having this amount of deer show up in both locations...and that has to be exciting for you to come back here and hunt w/your Dad and family....nothing beats the time shared with a Son and his Dad...hope for you success and I'm sure I'll be talking with you about it....
Just got off the phone with my dad. 5 shooter bucks in the clover last evening. 4 8pts and a nice 3-4 year old 10 pt. All in full velvet. 10 pt has been showing up 10-15 minutes before dark every night. no pictures. Dad said he was going to move trail camera today to try to get pictures tonight. He watches them in spotting scope from his porch every night. Getting real interesting in SW pa. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
