Sorry but there are plenty of non speed bows out there that has a lot harsher draw than my bow. Mine is only a 60lbr and that may be where the difference is. Did you try and shoot a 60 or 70lbr?

    It was a 70lbs bow.

I've feel in love with the AlphaMax 6 year's ago and thats what I still shoot today. It's kinda ruined me, I been looking to buy a new bow for a few year's now but I compare every bow I shoot to the AM32....nothing (from what I've shot) is even close to how smooth that bow is.

I had the am32 it was a good bow in its time. I just got rid of my carbon spyder because 2 weeks after i bought it. It had a limb splinter then when I get it back, I had it for roughly another couple weeks then the finish started coming off on the top limb. Just refuse to pay a premium price and get a sub par bow. trust me when I say there is a big difference between a 60lbr and 70lbr and and will help tremendously if the bow is tuned and in spec.

Funny you mentioned the spyder (which I don't care for at all). My friend cronos(sp?) every bow that comes through his shop and the spyder was the fastest bow (actual speed) that he has worked on this year.

I've owned 12 bows and shot probably 300+ over the past 30 year's....and the AM is light year's ahead of the spyder, when campared to what I look for in a bow. My arrow blowing thru and sinking 6" in the ground is good enough for me, I think my arrow sinking 8-10" in the ground is just overkill, lol.

Im glad you like youre old bow. In the end, thats all that matters. But a fyi. The am also had its share of limbs splintering.

It's not old, I just got it 6 years ago, lol. One thing I've learnt over the year's about bows is, the newest bow is not always better and faster is not always better. I was shooting over 300fps 25 year's ago and using a 6" overdraw.

Like I said im glad you like youre bow but theres a big difference between 300fps and 375fps and the bows nowadays shoot circles around the older bows. They are faster and quieter

Thanks, Im glad that your glad that I like my bow, lol.

I didn't say the IBO was 300, I said it was shooting over 300...the obsession that came through the shop didn't break that mark. So yes, there is a big difference. :-)

They're just like computers and cell phones...as soon as you get one you like, it's obsolete tomorrow.

The AM is as good a bow that has ever hit the market.

Well, if youre implying that a 70lb obsession evolution wont out shoot youre am32 then I would chunk the evo over in a pond somewhere. If it dont out perform the am then there is something definately wrong with it. I know the ibo speed on the alphamax 32 was 323fps and the obsession is 353fps. Just because the am fits you better dont mean it will out perform a bow thats 30fps faster.

Just because a bow is faster does not equate at all to outperforming

Not to mention obsession fall short of there IBO pretty significantly and hoyt meets or exceeds there's. So I would say that my FAKTOR turbo would shoot pretty close to the evolution at the same specs.

Not sure if my evo is actually making its ibo or not but at 63lbs shooting a 410 grain easton axis at a 28"draw it shot 304fps several times. But im not here to get into a pissing match with you hoyt guys. All I stated was my experiences with the last one I had and I can assure you all if yall had the same experience that I had with them then yall wouldnt be happy either.

    Faster
    Smoother drawing
    Less vibe
    Less noise
I would say that would equate to out performing

    Results equate to performance.

Ever shot a target rig? Some of them rattle your teeth but are a breeze to shoot accurately.

And a harsh draw is not smooth. It's the opposite of smooth. However, a stiff draw can be smooth.

Tear drop cams are typically harsh as they have a huge drop into the wall.

Spiral cams from hoyt are stiff but very smooth as they start to stack early and hold poundage into the wall.(and have aided archers in many world records since their inception)

When drawing on a deer, I want smooth to eliminate movement and aid in a let down if need be. Plus when it gets cold, much easier on the old bones.
