Dan, Working in healthcare, I get that sober reminder on a daily basis, that however bad things may seem to me personally, one of those patients I take care of is having a worse time in life, and I should feel grateful for the wonderful things I've been blessed with. Too often, I think we get wrapped up in our own little issues that we forget all the GOOD we've been blessed with. Keep it real, and make sure to give thanks for those blessings you have in life. Each and every day we have here is a blessing, which we should cherish.
Dan, prayers sent. There is a reason that these things have happened, so keep you family close as you have said. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great post, Dan. My thoughts go out to all those you mention. I sit here this morning with tags in hand.....and 5 hunting days left in my season. But here I sit. I get to have coffee with my wife, before she leaves for work. Good stuff, huh? Merry Christmas, buddy.
Very Well put.... I was aggravated having to get up this morning to my wife asking me to go start her car... (I'm off today) . I logged on afterward... not so much a big deal now... I thank you for that Dan.
Amen, and while it's good to hear Johnny's girlfriend is not in mortal danger I'm still praying that she recovers from her injuries. It's odd that you bring this up, because this morning I was reflecting on what really makes me happy while making my coffee and thoughts of my wife and two kids immediately jumped into my head. Sure a 200" buck would be nice, but that would be the icing on the cake that I've already got.
if you havent read thru everyone's post PLEASE go back and re-read. this is why we outdoors people are special. most of us dont really "know" each other, but we can be compassionate and wish each other well in times of need. hang in there Dan thoughts and prayers go out.
It's good to hear Johnny's GF injuries are not life threatening. She'll be in my prayers. Your post hit home and I totally agree with your thoughts. God Bless and have a wonderful Christmas with your family!
Great post and so true. Husband, Father, Friend, first; then hunt. Took me several years to figure that out. Years I would love to have back. No trophy on the wall can replace time lost with family and friends. Many guys have lost everything they had because a job or passion for a hobby consumed them. We all need to take a step back once in a while and reflect on what is truely important to us.
Great post Dan It sounds like Jonny's girlfriend will be ok that's great news. It feels like the forces of nature were trying to tell you not to go.
Wow Dan... I'm humbled to read your thoughts and feelings just because I couldn't be in any more agreement with you on everything you said.... It's posts like this that cause my heart to swell with pride when I think of the quality of friends I have here in this little community.
Dan, your one of the good guys. Great post. Im sure Johnny's girlfriend is in good hands and well send some prayers her way from Chatham, Ohio. Bill will just get bigger next year, Or your little brother will shoot him while your getting everything in your life sorted out, thats how it works
Beautifully said! Respect to you Dan! Prayers to the people who are dealing with adversity. If someone had a fire and I can help them work through any of the insurance stuff please have them contact me.
Dan, I just received a Christmas card that had a short message that I thought would be helpful here. In moments of happines, praise God, in moments of difficulty, seek tGod, in moments of quietness, worship God, in moments of pain, trust in God, but in all moments thank God. r/ Roland
How easy it is to forget what is truly important and get 'lost' in the chase. Thanks for a great post Dan. Our hunt can wait! Thanks to all for the prayers.
Here's hoping for a quick recovery Johnny! (Glad the gf is relatively ok). Dan, you couldn't have spoken truer words. I find I often take a lot of things in life for granted. I really am blessed in so many ways, as our all of us. Good post, teammate.
Dan Great Post! And I hope all your friends recover fully.. Not To Hijack..But I must have missed out on the Buckeye thing. From what I can pick-up in this post he had a fire. (?) I live not too far from him and can easily help out with what-ever. I also have a 3 & 5 year old and we have some baby stuff left over, if they need some things. Any updates or contact with him..let him know..I'll help anyway I can.
