I can't even fathom going through that. The pictures that are coming forward are incredible and the damage caused is unfathomable. If anyone has the ability, please donate what you can. Every cent is needed.

    Stay safe.

We were supposed to leave for Costa Rica this Thursday but the connecting airport in Houston will be closed until at least Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed out longer and our trip gets cancelled.

I am , practically speaking, about as far north and west of Houston as you can get and still be in Texas (650 miles away) so the storm has had zero effect on us. Hence lies a big part of the problem. Instead of storm moving inland, it has stalled and stayed right on the coast. The Dallas area, which is only 250 miles from Houston has not had any impact either.

I have a close friend who lives in the Houston area who I have been in contact with. As of yesterday, he lost electricity, his house was shin deep in water and he thought he was about to lose his car. Not good to say the least.

....which if your house is shin deep in water, no electricity is probably a good thing. But without it and no access to his car, he is worried about cell phone battery life as no way to recharge

It's nice to see and hear stories of people helping others out and not citizens taking advantage of the problem and looting the stores. Love TX

Everyone make sure to call your senators to pass relief for Texas ASAP, we don't need any political games like last time Ted Cruz!!!!!!
