elk and buffalo are BY FAR my favorite wild game meats... if I could put enough elk & buffalo meat in my freezer each year I'd never eat another piece of store bought meat...

On my only elk hunting trip I was only able to hear bugling at last light from a very, very far distance, and even as faint as it was it was exciting stuff. I plan on going back in 2010 on a DIY hunt and hope I learned some things to get me into position for action,

Funny thing................a local farmer raises a few elk and two years ago they escaped. It was strange but very cool to hear a bull elk bugling here in Illinois at dawn.

I love turkey hunting just for the fact that they are so vocal...

A pre-dawn gobble is the BEST sound in the world.

I have only heard deer ever make 2 sounds, a snort, of course, and a grunt.
