maybe its jus the way my grandfather rasied his 4 boys an my dad raised me but we all gut them on spot... dont really bother me if my pics arent perfect....
My family and all our friends all gut on spot way easier to drag to truck after and most of the time trucks can get to the deer anyway
I gut after every kill and before every drag. I will sometimes move a deer without gutting it for a photo or two, but that's usually about it.
I gut in the field. I have dragged a whole deer out and took it over to another property to gut it since it was opening morning of gun season, and my buddy was wanting to hunt the stand I shot him out of. It was a pain.
haha i woulda told him he coulda dragged it if he wanted to hunt that stand or he could come back for next sit but i guess ur a nice guy
Gut'em where they fall. Get that meat cooling down ASAP. Couldn't even imagine leavin the guts in for the drag let alone the meat quality! Plus having just finished some left over tender-loins..it's well worth it!
Shot my first buck that went on the wall with his nose in the gutpile of the deer I'd shot the evening before.
