I was wondering if temperature is a factor for you when putting cams out? Last couple weeks my cams have been kinda screwy, Im thinking because of the cold. Was wondering if anyone else has the same issue. I pulled all but 1 cam out of the woods.
Yeah mine were wildgames. And my Moultrie batteries seemed to die really fast in the cold. The only cam that I have out not is one of my brand new MPE5s so well see how she does!
My dad told me no matter how cheap WG, Cuddeback, or Moultrie are he won't let me buy one because he hates to see me throw my money out the window...
haha I personally love my WGs for the most part. Pretty hard to beat for the price, and allows me to have 5 cams instead of 2. Big difference on 120 acres. But, I did get 2 MPE5s, and if I like them, and can find them for $75 again, Ill stock up. Have to test them first for myself. They seem like a very well liked camera.
The cold temps are hardest on batteries. Normally the camera are fine but the batteries are the issue if there is a problem.
No problems here yet, it's been as low as 1 below zero, the Covert MP6, Primos Ultra 35, Moultrie M100, and Moultrie A5 have been working fine.
Yeah batteries seem to be the biggest issue. Especially the C cell ones, which you have taught me arnt the best for trailcams in the first place. Cant wait to see how this MPE5 does out there.
I started getting aggravated with my cuddybacks, I had 4500 pictures and not one deer lol, it was on time lapse but funny thing is the tracks went right in front of it. It stopped taking pics a month ago but took a pic of me when I went to check it lol. Takes me an hour to look at all the pics haha
My Red40 is still on original batteries since late spring. My homebrews need changing every few weeks in this weather, though. Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
I've have come cameras start to tweak out at above 0 temps and others rock out photo after photo in -30* temps.
i have 2 mpe5's out that i haven't checked since January 1. going to pull them Thursday and see how they help up under the cold.
Brought mine in for the winter. The stretches of cold weather we have had here in MN have been out of this world.
I have a mp6 that has been out all winter so far...havent checked it since the end of october...when I get a chance im curious to see how its held up in this crazy cold as well....dont usually leave any out this time of year...ill let you know how that turns out Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
good batteries is the key. Had -23 for a temp (windchill close to -50) this morning when my red40 snapped a few pictures of me by the bird feeder.
