The first sign of an addiction, is denial of the addiction. Someone had to say it haha!

But that being said, I am going on 7 yrs of dipping. I only dip Griz straight, and do pouches 99% of the time, just to keep my teeth free of it and to make it more convenient to put in and take out, I plan to quit when I have a kid, so no time soon I hope.

Haha, I've got five little ones! Part of me is like "I'm almost forty, so what the heck, why not?!". For some reason Redman has been calling me!

Just about a year dip free. I quit just before gun season last year. I miss it some but only when in stand or when I'm around someone else that does it and that's not thy often. I don't regret it a bit.

DO NOT start again Redz. I quit chewing and dipping three to four years ago after doing it off and on for 15 years. I am the same way as you when I get outside. I want to put in a dip or chew in the outdoors, but have withstood the urge because I don't want to get mouth cancer, waste money, or develop a host of other health problems. The only thing I am really addicted to these days is a couple large cups of coffee per day.

I would recommend not starting as well. Lately, I HAVE to have a can with me when I'm hunting. I forgot it one day, I walked the 3/4 mile back to my truck just to get it. I really need to quit, but it's a lot harder now that hunting season is in.

I would really like to quit. It's been off and on for me for like 15 years and mentally I'm ready, but I just enjoy it so much. If you don't do it, don't start. I have friends that can dip only in the stand or in the duck blind or whatever and not do it again for several weeks. I'm not one of those people...

It shows how cunning nicotine is! The 30th will be exactly 13 yrs since I've had any, but it just kicked up like it was yesterday! I don't know if its because I started hunting, or just from being in the outdoors more? Maybe its just a mid life crisis, lol! Seriously, I have a $10 in my wallet set aside for the right moment! I went into Rite Aid today with the intent to buy, but didn't see Redman so I just walked out. Getting serious fellows!

My Dad raised me to know better than to ever start. He would have smacked me silly. Thank goodness for that. All of you that chew need to have a five minute conversation with the Dentist next door to my office and if that doesnt make you quit, then nicotine should be illegal. Tobacco is horrible stuff and its not IF but WHEN you will be sorry you ever started chewing. Best of luck to those of you that have the fortitude to quit.

I shared a turkey camp with a guy that had his tongue cut out because he couldnt quit chewing. Had to blend all of his food into liquid and shoot it down his throat with a tube. He lived about one more year before the cancer ended up getting him. While we were in camp he killed his last turkey ever. He never did get to take his daughter out. Sadly, there are thousands of similar examples.

That chew must really taste good!

I quit in the middle of hunting season last year. It really, really sucked. But, if I could quit then, I'm good to go all the rest of the year.
